I will be getting drunk and sitting in my new seats in Section 416. This is my 10th opening day, '04-'13.

9:52 am, girlfriend at work, dog sleeping...popping some champagne and listening to the new Knife album. Great day.

I'm heading out of work after lunch to catch this. Looking forward to seeing Jackson/first Wrigley game of the year. The Brewers are basically trotting out a AAAA lineup right now, so I'd be disappointed if we don't get 2 of 3 this series.

Not sure what the game thread starting rules are, but this game is on today. So, there's that.

Milwaukee is 1-5 and has been outscored by 17 runs, while the Cubs are 2-4 and are -8.

I wonder if this is the quickest people have started ignoring the forum. Anyways, Vanilla Ice was supposed to start the game thread.

At least we are facing a team that not only has as many closer problems as we do BUT has so many injured starters it's incredible. Losing this series would be an epic fail.

Losing this series would be a fairly typical outcome of any three game series during a baseball season. Not epic at all, unless they managed to lose 20-0 every game.

Lillibridge is the lowest scoring hitter in my fantasy baseball league. 0-11 with 4 K's and an Error for -3 points, or an average of -.75 per game!

Just to clarify, he's not on a roster.

I think Castro gets his first HR today. Brewers lineup isn't out yet, looks like Segura and Braun aren't playing and if I had to guess they might be considering DL'ing one of them as they have very little flexability right now and could use another bench player.

yesterday the Brewers and their 13-man pitching staff were forced to bat Kyle Lohse as the final out in a one-run loss

hopefully this will come into play in our favor too in this series

Hopefully we just got swept because we played what may be the best team in baseball and not because it's a sign that we'll be THAT bad. A series win would be great. A sweep would be even more fun.

Yeah, my expectations for the team aren't nearly high enough for anything to be an epic fail. I've already hit high disappointment with the blown save against the Braves though. That's about the most I think I'll be able to muster this season.

Sounds like the winds will shift towards out to RF as the game progresses. Hope Rizzo can take advantage.

True it's baseball anything can happen but it's about as big an advantage as we will have all season, save for maybe Miami or Houston.

No Aramis, Segura, Hart, Gamel...Axford struggling horribly, and not to mention that Braun was still so hurt yesterday that the Brewers pinch hit Lohse without 2 out in the bottom of the 11th with the tying and winning runs on base. They are a very wounded team and we need to take care of them when they are down.
