Usually, my download speed is around 12 Mbps.

That's more than enough. What are you primarily going to be using it through? Computer/PS3/Portable device? I've used it through both PS3/PC/Mac and really have had few problems, I've been using it since it started in 2006 too.

I'll be using it exclusively through my desktop PC.

In the past, there have been some connection problems early in the season (mostly Opening Day), iirc?

Yeah, sometimes during the first weekish there are some bugs. Probably due to higher usage and you can run into some lag, games freezing momentarily, shifting from HD/SD for a few seconds. But overall it works great and by the 2nd-3rd week those issues go away (unless you have computer/connection problems). Also usually whatever new feature(s) they introduce every year they have issues with during the first weekish like the mosaic thing they introduced a few years ago and being able to select the home/road broadcast doesn't always work early on. It's worth the money right away, though, and worth dealing with some minor issues during the first weekish of the season.

Back when the MLB.tv ran through Quicktime on Mac that was pretty good. Reliability got worse, in my opinion, when they took that option away. However, streaming on the PS3 seems to be pretty reliable with a good connection.

I just upgraded to 18 Mbps for the season. I'm pretty excited.

I use my phone/pc/xbox to stream games and the picture quality is great. It's basically a must have at this point.

I am going back to MLBTV this year after having EI last year. It's having its issues on my work Mac, but works great on my PC at home. I've heard great things about the picture quality on PS3 too, but I haven't had a chance to check that out yet.

it's basically the best thing ever. i don't know about streaming it on your pc, but i've used a roku player, a blu ray player, and my xbox to stream mlb.tv and it's always been excellent picture quality.

you're usually a good 30 seconds to a minute behind the regular tv broadcast, but that's a trivial complaint.

frak, I forgot to cancel EI and that ugly bill just showed up on my directv statement. boo. hate calling customer service.

Was planning on going back to mlb.tv this year. So can I use my single mlb.tv account on all my devices like ipad/iphone plus roku, ps3, etc?

I've never had any trouble with Directv's customer service. I actually think they're really great.

what makes their customer service great is the fact that they'll break their backs to keep you happy/subscribed...want EI, sunday ticket, and all the movies channels for free? threaten to leave for comcast.

They call me to offer me promos all the time too. I change my HBO/Showtime subscriptions based on what series' are currently ongoing, and when I call, I make sure to get to an actual person, because they usually can give me money off the subscription somehow.

Threatening to go to Dish (along with complaining about not getting Comedy Central during the days they weren't going to carry Viacom channels) got me free Sunday ticket last year.

Well, MLB.tv is great when MLB blackout restrictions aren't a load of horse [expletive].

Wanted to watch the game tonight because it's the first of the season but I'm blacked out because Mobile, AL is a blackout zone for [expletive] Houston which is 8 1/2 hours away.

I hope Bud Selig dies a slow horrible death

All Sunday Night Baseball games are blacked out everywhere.

That does not change my opinion of Bud Selig

Mlb.tv is about the only service of its kind that i feel is well worth the money they ask for. If it wasnt for blackouts i would have no complaints at all.

Gameday audio is actually a few seconds faster than the TV broadcast through direcTV.
