Some details on the new alternate road jerseys

The lettering on the front will be similar to the above.

 

-As mentioned earlier they are grey, and they will have "CUBS" across the front in straight letters

-The font is identical to the one shown in the 1922 photograph above

- The CUBS lettering is blue with a thin white outline

- The players number will appear on the players lower left, under the "BS" part of the jersey lettering

- Players number is red with a white outline, numbers are block NOT rounded like current road numbers

- Blue piping runs down either side of buttons around the collar and up around the back of the neck

- The "walking cub" logo on the red "C" is on the sleeve just like the normal road uniform

- There is blue and white piping near the cuff of each arm sleeve

 

 

Not crazy about the fact that they are keeping with the red numbers. I really hate that.

 

TT should be happy about the piping.

The new uniforms sound dope as [expletive], but the greys are radical to the max, dude. I love the way the "Chicago" looks.

I'll wait to see them unveiled. From a tradition standpoint though shouldn't the road uniform say the city name over the team name? Main home and roads are good though so hopefully this can just be a slight upgrade to the blues.

It says the Cubs will go across the front in straight lettering.

 

Most of the time you see a number on the front it is with lettering that goes from lower left to upper right while looking at the uni. And I wouldn't say they even look all that great.

I agree that all blue would be much better, but it's kind of weird to bring that up as a point of contention when I'm pretty sure it's been the case with all our road jerseys for decades.
