So the last 4 out were Kentucky, Virginia, Iowa and Tennessee.

Was that stated somewhere?

They're the 4 1 seeds in the NIT.

Seems like a lot of the 'experts' actually did well too. Lunardi for instance had all 68, all the 1's and 2's, and the last four in. I'm not shocked, as this year seemed pretty cut and dried in terms of who was getting in once everything actually shook out.

Yeah...despite all the drama the last 2 weeks about all the crappy teams forced onto the bubble, a couple of teams played themselves in and a couple more played themselves out, making the bubble drama minimal going into the selection show.

So ridiculous this hasn't been solved by now. If Iowa, Maryland, Virginia, Oregon, etc. would have just swapped out their 2 worst non-conference opponents for NAIA or D-2 schools like Boise and other MWC schools did, their SOS would have been higher than Boise's.

email your coach & ad.

May be the fact that I was in school back in the day, but I refuse to feel the slightest bit of sympathy for Iowa not being smart enough to do the little things. That just feels about right.

Let Iowa and Pearl toil together in obscurity forever.

Who the [expletive] is asking for sympathy? I've stated multiple times on this board it's Iowa's own fault that they scheduled like this.

The point is the system is completely dumb and everyone can recognize it except the NCAA. When your SOS improves 150 spots by playing D-2/NAIA schools instead of low-level D-1 schools, something needs to be evaluated. And it's not just about selection. For the vast majority of the field, the seeds fell right about in line with the RPI.

But yeah an Iowa assistant did something you thought was really bad 25 years ago so keep focusing on that instead and ignore the article or the content of the post. The fact that it even gets brought up anymore is just bizarre. Good God, get over it.

And that article sucked. Oh the tournament was pretty much straight RPI except for these 19 exceptions where it wasn't.

I mean yeah, 21 teams with lower RPIs got in over Southern Miss and their mid-20s RPI, but you can imagine if they took them instead of Cal!!

14 teams with worse RPIs avoided the play-in game ahead of MTSU and St. Mary's, but let's pre-suppose that maybe they didn't?

Duke #1 overall, give em a 2 seed! Indiana 10th, lock #1!
