Though the image of a diabolical, cigar-chomping, robber baron-esque Reinsdorf lording over #poorTomRicketts in the CSN boardroom is pretty hilarious.

The cubs CSN stake is no more than a revenue sharing agreement that Im sure dissolves once a team departs. I'd be shocked if a departing team is allowed to keep ( or would even want to keep ) an ownership stake.

Winning naturally drives team identity, but I was discussing this in terms of the thread " Cubs TV Deal Stuff "

I will say I am on board with firing Dave Kaplan into the sun. So there's that.

Capa: By the time you get this message, I'll be in the dead zone. It came a little sooner than we thought, but this means you won't be able to send a message back. So, I just wanted to let you know that I don't need the message because I know everything you wanna say. Just remember it takes eight minutes for light to travel from sun to Earth, which means you'll know we succeeded about eight minutes after we deliver the payload. All you have to is look out for a little extra brightness in the sky. So if you wake up one morning and it's a particularly beautiful day, you'll know Kaplan is dead.

Someone in a brand new Rolls Royce Wraith with a black Sox vanity license "SOX" (I think, didn't get a great look at that) blew past my daughter's stopped (signs out) school bus the other day about two miles from his house.

I don't know that's him, but someone's an [expletive]

The point is that your theory of a nefarious effort to insult the Cubs on-air to drive fans to the Sox doesn't really make much sense given that the Cubs' owners own a bug chunk of the network. Reinsdorf can't just do whatever he wants because he owns a 40% stake (nevermind that he seemingly is doing nothing to stop the network from insulting his own teams...UNLESS THAT'S PART OF HIS PLAN).

Like I said, time will tell, how the Cubs feel about their CSN " situation" . you must be a Sox fan the way you defend Reinsdorf all the time. Haha. Might explain how you joined this blog right after the Sox won the World Series in Oct 05. Lol

No, it won't. The Cubs' goal is to have their own network; that would be their goal even if everyone at Comcast was on their knees every time they mentioned the team. If the Cubs leave CSN it's to make more money, not because Chuck Garfien is making them cry themselves to sleep every night with his mean, mean words.

Totally agree ! What's with the homophobic dancing video implant in his post? He's screaming for ' look at me ' attention. He's got to be a Sox fan.

As long as its OK to call people weirdos.

You've now managed to set the bar even higher than before.
