Bogusevic going down must mean that Stewart isn't starting the year on the DL, right? Or am I misunderstanding the machinations and they'll bring back one of Bogusevic/Maysonet/Watkins/etc once they're forced to place Stewart on the DL?

I can't believe how awful our infield bench is that I'm actually a little sad that Ian Stewart is hurt.

On the plus side, our IF is young and seems pretty durable (don't know about Valbuena, I guess). So hopefully that doesn't hurt us that much.

I can't believe how awful our infield bench is that I'm actually a little sad that Ian Stewart is hurt.

 

I do wish they'd have gone with a bat-first guy instead of playing it safe with Clevenger's versatility. Castro's playing 160+ games. Rizzo will start 150+ and Barney won't be far behind. Plus Valbuena and Barney's flexibility means you only really need a 3B option in order to cover all your bases(save a significant injury which would also afford you a call up). Bogusevic getting PH at bats would be better than seeing Clevenger hitting in the 6th and 7th inning for the first month.
