It's true he was starting to piss me off before he, you know, won the game.

I know. I have been impressed with Kane so far this season. I have been very critical of his overall game since he came up. Today he was very soft, wouldn't go to the corners, got knocked off the puck a lot and didn't hustle back on the back check. And then the way it ended..like I said oh well

I wanted to see if the Hawks start has changed anyones views on Stan Bowman and the job he's done. In the offseason (pre-lockout) there was a growing criticism of him and how hes managed the Hawks since the Cup. I'll admit I am surprised at the amount of depth it seems like this team has and the defense has been a crap load better this year. I don't know how I feel, I was on his side but was really wavering after what seemed like a bit of a disappointing offseason. I don't want to jump the gun after 21 games either.

It depends on more on how the season ends and where they go from there. Potentially, they could have to choose which role players to keep.

This is just as intense as playoff hockey. I know Crawford and Emery's stats are unbelievable this year, but is the defense just that much better or have they both improved immensely? Or both?

if before the season started we listed what we thought was the best case scenario for each player this season, we'd be getting literally all of the best case scenarios. crawford, emery, hjalm, oduya, leddy, kruger, shaw, and saad have all gone our way, and of course the core guys are doing their thing.

kane has about a million of those late in game goals like that. you cant write if off as him sucking and then the goal just being "oh well". one of the funnest things about kane is his ability to consistently score huge goals late in games.

he just makes plays, man.

@BrianHedger: Q: "I don’t know. We can talk about anything. We made an adjustment. You can look at it as an injury or whatever, but nobody was hurt." #NHL

This was in response to a question on why they dressed seven D. Of course to me it looked like Brookbank only got 2-3 shifts.

Not gonna lie Kane came as close as you can to stopping going forward, but so dirty.

Red Wings forums are full of fans crying about how that should be illegal.

Seems like Columbus has played them the toughest. But it'll be hard to beat a team twice in a row...as this is about at the "everybody's best game" phase of the streak.

Meh. It had more forward motion than a spin-o-rama shootout goal -- or Bertuzzi's from last year.

It was really close. I haven't gone back and watched again but I think the puck stopped for a moment.

He's moving, the puck moves. Detroit fans are just angry they lost a game that they should have won. Just fan angst, nothing more.

exactly. I am sure Datsyuk has made several that should not have been allowed. The NHL is never going to disallow goals like that. It will be top play on sportscenter, draw attention to the league blah blah blah. And to be honest it is really fun to watch if it doesn't happen to your favorite team. So to be honest they should just do away with the rule and move on.

Just for kidding around. Ericsson's delay of game penalty would not have been a penalty in 1979-1980. If the Hawks end up passing the Flyers, there is always that quirk for Flyers fans to hang their hat on:)

Yeah, there should probably be more judgment on the delay of game calls, but I remember the bad old days when pucks were regularly hoisted out of the defensive zone and into the stands with no calls.

My goodness am I glad the Hawks aren't in the playoff scrum. There are 5 teams with 24 points. The fact that the Hawks are 17 points clear of St. Louis and Detroit (St. Louis does have a game in hand) is amazing.
