Andrew Luck's pretty awesome

and like that, my dreams of Dee Milliner stay alive

I think you have to get a top 7 pick to get Milliner, especially with Matt Barkley's struggles and injury. But that's me.

Uh oh

The friend wrote that after the Chiefs' Nov. 18 game against the Bengals, the last game Belcher played in, Belcher "was dazed and was suffering from short-term memory loss. He could not remember the events that had taken place prior to that game or what he had said to get Kasi [Kasandra Perkins] to return home."

"If you review the footage of the Cincinnati game, he took a few hits to the head directly," the friend wrote.

Yikes, if true

Man, San Diego and Rivers really pissed around at the end. 4th and 10 at the 18 with a minute to go and two timeouts and they take 4 shots at the end zone? I'm surprised it took till 4th down for Rivers to be picked to end the game.

Are ratings for Baltimore/Pittsburgh higher than other games? I can't understand how CBS otherwise determines this a national game, especially with Charlie Batch playing.

it's probably the best rivalry going in the nfl right now

Ok, so I just watched highlights of St Louis' kicker....Jesus Christ, that guy has a leg. The winner from 54 would have been good from 70

Is there any evidence that links concussion to immediate violent crime? I have a hard time believing there would be one.

Not sure. I know Chris Benoit killed his wife and son then himself a few years ago and the autopsy showed he had significant brain damage due to concussions he suffered as a pro wrestler.

His family now believes that new test results on Benoit's brain explain his vicious actions.

The tests, conducted by Julian Bailes of the Sports Legacy Institute, show that Benoit's brain was so severely damaged it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient.

Bailes and his research team say that this damage was the result of a lifetime of chronic concussions and head trauma suffered while Benoit was in the wrestling ring.

Not sure if suicide is violent crime but I think Junior Seau killed himself in part due to how his brain functioned after a career with concussions. Of course Dave Duerson specifically said in his suicide note that he couldn't function after his football career and donated his brain to science so people can study his brain.

All of that said, I still don't think concussions had anything to do with Belcher's murder-suicide but I won't completely dismiss the possibility until we know more. And whether or not it ends up being true, I wouldnt be shocked if the media played up this angle.
