Game 11 - Minnesota Vikings @ BEARS - 12 PM

Yea..... I'm not afraid of playing Seattle in Chicago.

I have terrible bad memories of them sacking Cutler 7 times and beating us with various bad quarterbacks

They beat the crap out of Hanie last yr. And murdered Knox.

Atlanta barely won again? Ugh. Come on you doofuses, just lose vs. these terrible teams for our benefit please

TB losing is pretty big for our wild card hopes if GB takes the division.

Carimi is still bad. Better at G than T though

When did Bears put him in at G? After Louis got hurt?

Yeah.

Yes

I didn't see the game, but how did he look there? I hope they don't turn him into Chris Williams 2.0, but just wondering.

Tillman was jumping around on the sideline during the game.

Walking boots get used all the time now.

I noticed Briggs out for the last drive but he was with Tillman standing up and cheering the D. Walking boots are scary but Ahmad Bradshaw wore one like everyday last year and didn't miss any time. Like to think those 2 play....don't have much hope for Forte, Spencer, Louis, and Hester.

This does feel like one of those games where the injury reports on Monday are a real downer. Hope I'm wrong.

Bears did a nice job overall today. Did pretty much everything they needed to do in order to come out of those 2 tough games, and move on with the season. It would be a real shame if stupid injuries derail the club once again.

I'm still pissed about the Allen hit, that wasn't a good football play or any other of that [expletive], it was an attempt to hurt someone plain and simple. I'm getting to the point where I believe the Bears should start engaging in this cheap shot, dirty play business, they've certainly been victimized by it.

that allen hit was very much the sort of thing that makes me feel guilty about watching football.

The worst are stories and quotes from players who have long since retired or their families.

Yeah, the Louis injury is the most concerning. I'm not too worried about Briggs. Expect that he'll play. A little worried about Tillman, but as good as he is, he shouldn't be necessary to have on the field to beat the Seahawks. They are actually a worse passing team than the Bears. And the current version of Sidney Rice doesn't scare me vs. Kelvin Hayden. Not too worried about Spencer, I suspect that he will be able to play. He's kind of a machine. Didn't miss any time last year when it looked like he was seriously injured a couple times (played w/ broken hand). I'm pretty sure Forte won't be able to play for a couple weeks. But not too concerned about that. Bush is fine, and the Bears are going as far as their passing game goes anyway. Forte has been a non-factor actually most of this year, in the run and pass game. Hester is obviously not as vital to the Bears success as he was a few years ago, and provides nothing on offense. If he has to miss, no big deal other than WR depth. Making Sanzenbacher active gives the Bears the same depth they had to start the game today.

But Louis is the best OL on this team. May not be saying much, but for a unit that's already not good, taking away their best player isn't going to help. Especially if you're looking at depth of an undrafted rookie (James Brown) and Carimi playing out of position. If either Louis or Spencer is out multiple weeks, may have to hit up the waiver wire for a body. Be interesting to see what the Bears do if they need multiple bodies this week. I'd imagine Cheta Ozugwu is out of a roster spot if the Bears have to go out and get a RB. But other than that, the Bears don't really have any dead space on the roster. Do you cut McCown again? Zach Bowman has been a key special teamer of late, do you get rid of him or McManis? What about Okoye or Toeina? Both have been inactive in recent weeks with the Bears going with only 3 DTs. Bears will be in a tough position if they have to go out and find a 3rd RB or a 7th/8th OL.

Yeah. I wouldn't go so far as to say I would want the bears to engage in it. In fact, I like the fact that they are one of the better defenses and you never really see any dirty play out of them--or really even any borderline "maybe that wasn't dirty, but they were trying to make it tough for that player to get up" kind of hits. Last year, I was excited when they signed Brandon Meriweather... until I realized all he was good for was throwing his helmet into every play. Then I honestly hoped he was gone.

Yeah I'd probably cut McCown again. Like someone else here said, if Cutler dies it doesn't matter who's taking the snaps. Might as well let that guy from the practice squad have a roster spot if he goes down again.

McCown is signed for the rest of the season. There's no reason to cut him.

Jared Allen is a piece of trash.

He's claiming ignorance now, which seems to be the new way of doing things in the NFL after a dirty hit.

There is if you have depth problems elsewhere.
