Biggs' thoughts after yesterday's game:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-biggs-10-thoughts-bears-20121105,0,1852191.story

Izzy won't miss time, that's good.

Hardin is 100% physically even though he can't play this year.

Lots of S/Ts talk, with Toub's strategy & methods at the core. Interesting stuff.

Jay saying that Tice needs to learn how to call the screen better -- in that not-so-thinly-disguised Jay way.

I'd love to read that, but the Tribune is actively trying to prevent me from reading their stories.

Couldn't they activate Hardin off IR if thy wanted? Isn't there a new IR rule that says you can pull one guy off?

Hardin doesn't qualify.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, teams will have the option to activate one player off injured reserve during the 2012 season. I'm not certain yet of the timing, but the original rule proposal allowed the player to resume practicing after six weeks. But importantly, that player must have been part of the team's original 53-man roster, to be determined Friday, and remain there at least through Tuesday afternoon.

That eliminates players who are already on injured reserve, including Green Bay Packers linebacker Desmond Bishop and Chicago Bears safety Brandon Hardin, from being candidates for activation. To be fair, it's not clear whether Bishop (hamstring) or Hardin (neck) will be healthy before the end of the season. Regarldess, they remain ineligible to play until 2013.

I love the show, but god, callers make me cringe. Callers are far and away the worst part of talk radio.

What's the latest regarding Evan Rodriguez?

He played 23% of snaps yesterday.

Hub says he is leaning Bears on Sunday night...lol

Hub also picked the Chiefs to be in the Super Bowl and also indicated he wouldn't have been shocked to see the Titans win in his own smug way

Well, they generally try to pick callers that make the radio hosts look smart. Depending on the radio hosts, that tends to be a low bar.

That one doesn't bother me at all, but I wonder if most here are more bothered today by that or finding out that Brett (Bleacher Nation) is a big Dave Kaplan fan. Gross.

Pretty sure he actually picked the Titans to win, not just said he wouldn't be shocked, but I could be wrong.

Hub is a giant tool anyway. Apparently the Bears are the only team with flaws and all of the other good teams are completely legitimate.

Yeah, I don't doubt it. B&B really hate their callers. Also I'm pretty sure they kinda sorta don't like Zach Zaidman too...lol

Clay Matthews reportedly to miss a few weeks.

Packers OLB Clay Matthews (hamstring) could be sidelined a "couple of weeks."

Matthews, who has a history of hamstring issues, doesn't believe the pull is "as bad as it was in the past," but it's still yet another blow for a 6-3 team that's been absolutely ravaged by injuries this season. The good news is, Matthews now has the Packers' Week 10 bye to heal up, but he sounds like a long-shot for Week 11. He's tied for second in the NFL with nine sacks.

Yeah...I used to kinda like Hub just because he had a direct no-bias (at least when discussing teams other than the Bears) kind of style, and he at least sounded smarter than a lot of the other guys out there, but overtime I've come to realize he's kind of an idiot. That's not to say he doesn't have some good insights from time to time but as far analyzing the NFL he's poking at holes like the rest of them.

And then there's his own anti-Bears bias, which either comes from his former associations with the team or his desire to rile the meathead fans by saying something unpopular. Whatever the reason, it grows tired and makes him look dumb more often than it makes him look smart.

Also, I've noticed B&B always like to bring up his Chiefs Super Bowl pick, and Hub always gets really defensive. Up until about a week or two ago he'd say something like "well we'll see, they still have time to get it going"

Simmons said in his podcast today that he doesn't know what to think of the Bears, since they've been barely beating teams week after week.

He must have them confused with the Falcons or something.
