It just sucks the team is decent enough they can't get a lotto pick even if Rose does set the whole year out.

Not really; if your team is suddenly top 5 garbage because of the loss of one guy then you've got a pretty shittily constructed team.

Chicago Bulls Derrick Rose advisers are asking him to take the long view and give his knee another full summer of work. (Source: Ric Bucher)

That stinks. I guess I understand, but it stinks.

Does it give us the opportunity to improve the team around him by trading Deng and/or Boozer?

True, but selfishly I'd like to be in a spot where stern could fix us one last lottery and add one more solid player. Think if we "lucked" into Ben McLemore.

not sure how'd i feel about that. i don't care about this year's team, but i thought it was kind of important that he get some nba games under his legs this season so he's more prepared for the start of next season.

Is that a Tweet? I can't tell if it's saying "the Bulls' Rose advisers" like they're advisers for the team or if it's identifying Rose as being "the Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose." If it's the doctors and medical experts the team are consulting, OK, I agree. If it's "Derrick's advisers," wait a minute.

Yeah it's a tweet. Reading some of the others from that account, including ones that attribute to Bucher, I'm pretty certain that's saying Rose's advisers, not the team's. Another tweet attributed to Bucher says those same advisers are "going to be on the Bulls hard if they don't add a legit Star before next season".

Interesting. Certainly have enough expiring contracts and pieces if we are willing to part with a Deng or Noah.

ric bucher is awful, by the way. non-story until we hear it from someone else.

It worked for the Spurs (Duncan draft)

Wasn't that because most of the key players had serious injuries that season? Yeah, that's a "lucly" situation; most of the time if you're suddenly horrible it's because you're a team like Cleveland and you thought LeBron and a Bunch of Other Guys was a sound way to build a team.

Isn't it pretty well established that there's no increased risk of reinjury once the injury is healed and rehabbed? I can understand sitting out if the extra time is going to decrease the chances of reinjury. But sitting out because the team sucks and can't win? I'm not sure how these "advisors" are, but it seems stupid.

From what I've read over the last 10 months, the chance of reinjury is low once you get to a certain point. Given the things at stake, I'm assuming that point will be long passed by the time Rose steps on the court.

If you want to look at concerns of coming back too soon, look at Rubios comeback. I think I read he hasn't played more than 22 minutes in a game, has only played back to back games once and recently injured his back due to overcompensating for his knee not being strong enough or something (I might have explained that wrong).

Yeah, that's the Bulls' problem, they haven't been lucky enough in the draft.

The title of the guy at that lottery was something like "assistant vp of ticket sales and fan relations" or some [expletive]. That's how little chance they had. They sent some mid-level guy who was just psyched to get a comp'd hotel room in NY.

58 points allowed sets the regular season franchise record for fewest points in a game I believe, besting last years 59 allowed against Orlando. Still can't touch the playoff franchise mark of 54 allowed in Game 3 of the 98 Finals.

I so love that 54 point game.

"It's not fun to be screamed at at 9 o'clock in the morning," Noah said. "A lot of F-bombs. A lot of F-bombs."

What exactly was he yelling about?

"That we were 10-10 at home," Noah said.

"A lot of F-bombs this morning, right?" he said to veteran two-guard Rip Hamilton.

Hamilton chuckled as he got dressed.

"All day," Hamilton said.

I think they'd have had a shot at that if they hadn't rested guys at the end of this one.
