At least this one has actual upside, or so it appears. He's my favorite so far.

KG had Gutierrez 17th in the Twins system heading into the year. We also outrighted Berken, Mateo, Socolovich, and Cardenas to Iowa today, opening up 4 spots on the 40 man.

It's a very nice gamble. Even if it fails, the only thing we really lost was an organizational catcher. Not the biggest deal.

 

I just don't know what type of stuff he has right now. Well, I guess no one does. At his best, he seemed like a possible setup type arm with some closing potential. IIRC, he was working on a cutter/slider pitch last year to try and go the next step.
