I've been to 5 Bears games, and this was only the 2nd one of those games that they won.

I think I'll stop going so I don't die of emotional diarrhea.

Question: was this a Bears win or a Carolina loss?

bears win, you [expletive] mook. cutler did exactly what he is supposed to do and led two huge scoring drives in the 4th quarter and the bears beat an inferior team, like they were supposed to do. at no point was the game carolina's to lose.

i know that doesn't fit your "the bears are terrible, the coaching's terrible, nobody wanted to coach this team because of its terrible reputation, this barf bag i ate is just terrible and everyone should be fired and die because that's the kind of guy i am this week and my friend theo, the other hanger-in-the-ass-attempted-abortion on this board, agrees" narrative that you've been spinning since before the season, but the bears are 6-1 and cutler is 11-1 in his last 12.

so [expletive] off

Oh, come on, that's a poor effort. Tell him how you really feel.

Hahaha the classic emo response. Love it.

The bears were lucky to get this win. Reading the box score, they honestly probably shouldn't have won but ill take it.

I'll take full blame for the ugliness of the game, and I'll take full credit for the win. My internet was down for the entire first half and I couldn't watch, but only follow the game on my phone. Started working right before the Steve Smith 55 yard catch down the sideline over Jennings, but I had the screen small and in the background as I was checking my fantasy stuff. From then on, I watched the game on full screen and it went well.

Well that was unnecessarily close and definitely had shades of the 2006 Arizona game (though the Bears offense was far livelier in this one than that one)

I'm not really sure why some folks are saying the Bears D didn't play well in this one, I'd argue they were fairly impressive. Though they didn't force a 3 and out until way too late in the game, they had several near miss opportunities (the fumble in the end zone, a couples balls batted in the air) that could have changed the game, and really stuck through while the offense put them in terrible field position after terrible field position. Yeah, Cam hit on a few deep balls and made some plays, which were a bit disappointing, but I really couldn't ask all that much more from the unit.

And I'll stand by 'erratic' Cutler comment that I got lambasted on earlier in the thread. This isn't to make any sort of conclusive statement on his play: He just hasn't put together many complete 'good' games this season. I'm not moralizing, I'm not completely blaming him, I've way too often been on the complete other side of the argument against meatballs going for blood vs. Cutler, and its gross. However, he just isn't feeling it every game, there's always things missing, today he didn't feel the pressure well until the second half, and a crapload of that has to lay at the feet of the OLINE which was just awful early on. Also Tice, for calling a pretty strange game that didn't play to the strengths of the team until almost too late. However, yeah, Cutler had another up and down game. It happens. Nice to see him finish it off well.

Marshall continues to impress and nice to see a Bennett sighting. Can't believe the Tight Ends continue to drop crucial passes when they are given so few opportunities, and Hester still can't play receiver. Would like to see some more sustained run game but conditions dictate that as well.

That's exactly how I feel about the Bear fan rabble. But I imagine it will be a topic for discussion next week, because people love drama.

I broke a 5 game losing streak with the win today (09 @ CIN, 09 vs. PHI, 10 vs. NE, 10 vs. GB (NFCC), 11 vs. KC). My friend who invited me was ready to ban me for life from taking me to Bears games (he has season tickets).

One thing that annoyed me about the game was the intercepted 2 pt conversion run back. How do NFL players not know that the defense can't score on a conversion? This happened to Peanut back in 2006 as well. The strange thing is that it seemed like no one on the field knew that you can't score there. What really bothered me was seeing Cutler trying to run down the returner and getting pushed out of the way. Was having flashbacks of last year. If Cutler gets hurt on a non-play like that, i might have a noose around my neck right now.

Oh and the other thing that wasnt mentioned much here, is that after the Jennings pick 6, to make the score 20-19 Bears with 6:44 left, Lovie sent out the FG team and then just before the snap must have finally figured out (aka had someone tell him) that this is an obvious 2 point scenario, so he has to waste a damn TO for one of the most obvious 2 pt situations ever. Given that this game came down to the final seconds, that lost TO could have lost us the game if things go slightly different...especially if the Panthers don't choose to throw on 2nd and 3rd downs before picking the go ahead FG.

I've watched this on loop at least 10 times and can't get anywhere near what Bernstein picked out. What a tool.

Looks like exactly what he said and I picked it out the 2nd time. I have no idea how anyone heard him though, doesn't look like he is screaming it.

They didn't hear it. It's all lip reading. Which, as Tom Brady proves, it's easy to misread lips.

Maybe it's because you can score on it in college.

Apparently Ron Rivera had a conversation pre-game with Hester and told him he wasn't gonna let him hurt the Panthers.

Fine with me, since Hester hasn't returned anything for TD this year.

It's just too bad we couldn't take advantage of the field position.

On the couple of opportunities he did have, Hester did look more aggressive though. I kinda wanted to see what he could do.

But I know you're pretty down on him.
