Does anyone else here listen to Up and In? I was a little surprised by how big on Vitters' improvement Goldstein was. He really seems to be impressed with the progress he made this year.

No. what was he talking about? I wonder if he's finally gotten some new info on him, because his Twitter comments on Vitters still seem pretty meh, for the most part.

Nothing super specific. Just thought the Cubs were doing the right thing and was adamant that he had made "real progress" at AAA this year and went on about he's still only 22. He also basically said that if he had to guess who would actually contribute next year it would be Vitters and not BJax

At this point I'd tend to agree with him, if Vitters isn't traded.

And KG has a real Jeckyll/Hyde thing going on with his non-Twitter and Twitter personas.

He gets trolled a lot and gets asked a lot of dumb questions, and he trolls back and gives dumb answers. Cubs and Blue Jays fans are apparently the most ravenous, which is why he seems to have this reputation for being down on Cubs prospects, IE Szczur, Lake, and most recently, Vogelbach.

I hear a lot about Hernandez and Amaya on here, but nothing about Penalver. What is everyone's take on him? Not as good?

One reason you hear more about Amaya and Hernandez is that this is their second year stateside so there's more information on them (obviously they've also outplayed Penalver too). Penalver's bat definitely isn't as good as Amaya or Hernandez'.

I'm assuming Daury Torrez is a control pitcher, as he now has allowed 4 walks in 69.2 innings, with 49 k's and has a 1.16 ERA at this point. He just turned 19, 2nd season in the DSL, and is 6'3, 170, at least lending to the belief he's projectable. At any rate, I guess he's a guy that gets brought over after the season.

It seems like he was getting more Ks early on, but he doesn't seem to walk much of anyone.

Versatile. Adequate or better defensively at 2B, SS, and 3B. Solid approach, gap power, maybe a bit more. Very heady, field general type. Should be a major leaguer, upside is debatable, but I like him quite a bit. Toonster has seen him quite a bit and likes him a bunch.

Interesting. Sounds like he projects as more of a 2B/SS type due to the power.
