I know Twitter has really changed things, but I'm so glad to see updates mentioning our prospects doing well, instead of the damn score. Even recently, you'd hear us mention how the team's records were great and it was a sign of good things to come. With no mention that we were fielding teams of 24 year olds in A ball.

 

Define "recently" and "us".

 

People have been breaking out individual performances by minor leaguers (and ignoring team records) for quite a while.

Wilken should be fired for the drafting of Simpson. Truly embarrassing.

 

Funny how the selection was mocked at the time due to the reach and many believed it was ego driven. Wilken really looks bad two years later.

 

I thought the Simpson pick was made because of financial reasons?

We've had a few rounds about the Simpson pick, but there's no true way of knowing. Unsure whether we were handcuffed financially basically, plus a weak area of yhe draft for us to be picking in. I remember I wanted Allie and that's turned out on the same level as Simpson.
