Ugh, this needs to be fixed. That's a crime given how good the original was.

When I made it, I messed up the color of Sveum... I think it will look pretty good otherwise if someone just lowers the brightness on that portion. I did that with paint, lol

Tomorrows pitching matchup is Randy Wells vs. Not Randy Wells, so I'm not liking our chances.

You could also say that tomorrow's pitching matchup is Randy Wells vs. Not Chris Sale or Jake Peavy, so I like our chances.

These are opponents' numbers against Gavin Floyd over the past 4 weeks (100 PA): .344/.400/.689/1.089. That's good for an 8.27 ERA, 1.79 WHIP.

Yikes! Peavy with 125 pitches tonight! How long until he's the next Sox starting pitcher on the DL?

They like to work 'em.

This was just the second time this year the Cubs won while scoring fewer than 3 runs.

Wouldn't be the case if Marmol could figure how to pitch like he did tonight on a consistent basis.

With Randy Wells, it doesn't make much of a difference if he's up against Chris Sale, Jake Peavy, or Crappy McJunkball.

I like the one that posted a few weeks back with Dusty leaning against the side of the truck.

That sure didn't look like vintage Marmol stuff last night.

The control wasn't there, but the stuff sure was. He's had several outings since his return where his fastball average velocity was higher than any point since 2010, and while I don't have the graphs in front of me, his slider sure looks sharper. He's not "fixed" or anything like that, but it's very encouraging to see that he still has the tools in the toolbox.

I don't think anybody was hitting sharp balls down the line against vintage Marmol like what happened last night.

Sharp balls down the line is an interesting interpretation of rolling Ramirez over into a routine groundout, so agree to disagree I guess.

I'm just saying that didn't look like what happened with vintage Marmol, and that calling what he did vintage is a bit of a stretch. He was decent Marmol, as opposed to wildly erratic Marmol. But vintage Marmol was on a whole other planet.

He's somewhere in between awful and vintage, but the knee buckling slider he threw for the K to the 1st batter was about as close to vintage as I think he's going to get.
