Never heard of Yasiel Balaguert or Kevin Encarnacion, but they seem interesting.

Um, you started the thread when we signed Balaguert.

I would marry this post if I could.

I've started a lot of threads, and they're no easier for me to keep track of than all of our pre-A ball prospects.

Rock Shoulders tweeting that he's heading to Boise. I wonder what that means for Vogelbach. He certainly didn't take too well to Ex ST.

I would think Vogelbach gets Arizona. Sucks, but with his EXST, it's hard to argue, if that's the case. At least he appeared to be coming out of his slump late.

Just bought the tickets for the series. I will be in section 107. Are any other NSBB followers going to be in attendance?

Too bad about Vogelbach. Maybe I will see him when Boise is in Eugene later on this year.

I saw Burke pitch for Boise last year. I just heard on WGN he had a good outing in Peoria.

We can hope he was working on his swing, etc. and when the actual games start, he'll hit better than he has.

All but Pugliese are IFA's, out of those 4 guys. Contreras has supposedly been moved back to C, one reason he's repeating. He was our largest bonus guy one year, rumored 850k. Amaya can flat out hit. Probably on the majority of everyone's top 30's listed here. Dunston Jr just tweeted he's headed to Boise as well.

That's good - I'm guessing Almora stays in Boise all season once he signs (except maybe that last week when Boise is the last to finish their season).

Not surprising but Pugliese and Shoulders tweeted that they made Boise's roster.

Another non-surprise, Ian Dickson tweeted he's headed to Boise too. Dunston is the only even moderate surprise so far.

Official roster will be released to the media tomorrow.

May not be exact, because Taylor Scott is going to Boise, but AZPhil has the recap of a Boise vs Arizona game played today, over at TCR. On my cell, so can't link. No game action for Maples yet, but supposedly is throwing.

I guess he'll be staying in Arizona then eh? Thanks for the info.

Mildly shocked that Dunston Jr. made it over Trey Martin. Well, I guess I'm shocked because of how AzPhil made it sound. Well, more shocked that Martin didn't make it. Wonder what happened.

Also ... wonder who the heck is the backup catcher? Inoa? Not that big a deal, and the roster will adjust enough in the coming weeks. Contreras is certainly going to get his work.

They have space and time to add a C. Likewise surprised Martin didnt make it. And I guess I'n surprised Paulino made it (and Scotg but we already knew it was coming).

If I had to choose ONE of Dunston or Martin, I'm choosing Dunston. Martin still deserved to be in Boise as well though. Really glad to see Arias there, wasn't sure they'd move him quicker not.

OOC, why? Post-draft hype was high ... really high on Trey Martin. I haven't heard anything substantial in regards to a change of opinion on either guy (although some reports on Trey Martin did make me wonder about his offensive ceiling), so I'm mildly curious why you prefer Dunston Jr. over him. To be honest, I don't care either way, and in situations like that, I'd simply hope the more developed guy headed to the tougher league.

I just took a good look at Martin's EXST numbers and I may be thinking wrong about him, for all I know. Thought he was very raw, but his stats don't show it. Dunston did produce slightly better anyway, but I've been under the impression Dunston was slightly better in just about every facet, other than fielding, than Martin is.

To the best of my limited understanding on them, Dunston Jr. probably has the higher ceiling offensively. Martin doesn't sound like he's going to have a lot of power (if things go well), and Dunston Jr. sounds like he could have average-ish, 12-16 HR potential, if things go well. Martin is probably the more polished defender. All in all ... it doesn't matter to me either way ... and if Almora is as good as the FO thinks he will be, then Dunston Jr. and Martin will likely be stuck behind him on the ladder (assuming Almora goes to Boise and does well when he signs).

Interesting:

Mike Safford[/url]"]The Boise Hawks officially landed in Boise at 12:55 p.m. this afternoon, as 21 players, skipper Mark Johnson, trainer Bob Grimes, and the newest addition to the Cubs staff, a video intern made their debut in the Treasure Valley – getting hounded by reporters from KTVB (NBC) and the Idaho Statesman.
