i perversely want to see ryan dempster pitching in the all star game with 0-3 (at least) record and a sub 2.30 ERA.

I can't believe that a lineup featuring Joe Mather, Koyie Hill, Tony Campana *and* Adrian Cardenas would struggle to score runs.

Campana didn't bat

Any team stupid enough to release and then re-sign Koyie Hill deserves never to win again.

Pretty soon we'll be getting lowlight reels and people asking Jon Kruk why we are so terrible. I'm sure they'll blame it on Castro having 8 errors and 4 walks.

Errors, sure, but what makes you think those people value walks?

10 losses in a row! \:D/

Woohoo! No reason we can't get that up to a Baker's Dozen or so, at least.

If we're gong to suck, go all out so we have a better draft position next year.

17 game winless streak for Dempster. 2 runs or less in 8 of his 6 games this year. The good news is I can't imagine him blocking a trade to pretty much anywhere at this rate.

Damn that's really impressive.

2012 NL Cy Young Award goes to Ryan Dempster 0-11 1.78 ERA 250 IP

I mean this with very little hyperbole that anyone here who has any sort of baseball experience at the high school or college level could not possibly be worse catching for the Cubs today than Koyie Hill. Hell, see if OMC wants to lace them up again, even though I don't think he was a catcher when he played....

My favorite thing about Koyie Hill is that he's a "switch hitter". Career .567 OPS as a lefty, vs. a .590 as a righty.

Quick!! Warm up the righty! We've gotta turn Koyie Hill around!!

Why must you defile both batter's boxes with your shittiness, Koyie Hill? Why?

So he can suck equally from both sides of the plate.

I honestly doubt there has been a single time in Hill's career that a manager made a pitching change with him up, that even bothered looking at his splits. It's Koyie Hill. He's not made an opposing manager think once about anything, other than maybe a "my Gawd, how in the hell is that [expletive] on a roster?"

Looking at pitchf/x, 11 of the 23 called strikes against LH were out of the zone, mostly by a fairly large amount

and 9 of the 11 were against Cubs hitters.

I'm sure you're correct. I can't help wondering if at any point in his career a coach or manager has taken Hill aside and told him, "There's no point in being a switch hitter if you can't hit for [expletive] from either side of the plate. Stop making an ass out of yourself."

Oh, THAT explains it.

Obviously tonight's game was not a big game since Dempster pitched well. Since, you know, all his bad starts come in BIG games and all his good starts come in meaningless games. Or something like that.
