10 losses in a row! \:D/

Woohoo! No reason we can't get that up to a Baker's Dozen or so, at least.

If we're gong to suck, go all out so we have a better draft position next year.

Looking at pitchf/x, 11 of the 23 called strikes against LH were out of the zone, mostly by a fairly large amount

and 9 of the 11 were against Cubs hitters.

Oh, THAT explains it.

Well, it explains a large part of how a terrible umpire called another terrible game. As for what your imagination imagined I was explaining, I have no idea.

I honestly doubt there has been a single time in Hill's career that a manager made a pitching change with him up, that even bothered looking at his splits. It's Koyie Hill. He's not made an opposing manager think once about anything, other than maybe a "my Gawd, how in the hell is that [expletive] on a roster?"

I'm sure you're correct. I can't help wondering if at any point in his career a coach or manager has taken Hill aside and told him, "There's no point in being a switch hitter if you can't hit for [expletive] from either side of the plate. Stop making an ass out of yourself."

This isn't the same as your scenario, but I found it interesting that Koyie Hill has been intentionally walked 13 times in his career. Logic would suggest its because he hits in front of the pitcher, but Koyie Hill is pretty much like a pitcher. In fact there are probably several pitchers that have a better OPS than Hill's career .571 (and .547 in the last 3 seasons).

And how often are pitchers IBed with runners on second? (I have no idea)

Can Ryan Dempster get some [expletive] run support? This is getting ridiculous.

Pretty soon we'll be getting lowlight reels and people asking Jon Kruk why we are so terrible. I'm sure they'll blame it on Castro having 8 errors and 4 walks.

Errors, sure, but what makes you think those people value walks?

the 2 most anti-sabr analysts, joe morgan and john kruk, drew a ton of walks as players. it's weird.

10 hits. No runs. 10 straight losses.

This time we can say only the Cubs

@Buster_ESPN: Cubs shut out Friday with 10 H, three SB. ELIAS: Only 3 times has a team been shut out since 1900 with at least 10 hits, 3 SB--all three CHC

In the context of the loss it would appear you were attempting to attribute said loss, at least in part, to said umpiring.
