I thought that's what most people assumed was going to happen all along. They were still paying Guillen this year and Loria didn't want to pay a third guy to manage. Jennings was under payroll already so Loria made him manage this year. Guillen is off the books after this year so they can hire a new manager and only be paying two.

ESPN shuts him down for the rest of the season.

 

Gotta think they'll quietly dump him on some Friday night during the offseason.

 

At all times during the course of their engagement with us, our commentators are directly linked to ESPN and are the face of our brand. We are a sports media company. Curt’s actions have not been consistent with his contractual obligations nor have they been professionally handled; they have obviously not reflected well on the company. As a result, he will not appear on ESPN through the remainder of the regular season and our Wild Card playoff game.

I'd swear Jody Davis scored 5 runs without an official AB once - don't know how to check that though.

It took a few circuitous Google searches but on 6/3/87 he went 1/1 with 4 walks and scored 5 runs in a 22 - 7 thrashing of the Astros with some nice relief work from Ed Lynch and Dickie Noles.

 

Edit: Damn BRBs.
