Luis Valbuena has hit 16 homers this year and has a line of .188/.260/.436 because of a .164 BABIP. He's always been a low BABIP guy (.258 for his career) but this is nuts. It made sense when Mark Reynolds hit .200 because he struck out 30+% of the time. But Valbuena's only at 21.5%.

Pete Rose bet on baseball as a player. Super shocking I know.

I don't recall watching him play, though I have his old player/coach 1985 Topps cards. Was too young to remember him. I've always been opposed to him getting into the HOF. This seals that deal:

I still think everyone HoF-worthy should be in there; it's supposed to be a baseball museum, for [expletive]'s sake.

Just keep him banned from any kind of actual professional baseball job, which is the part that really drives him nuts anyway.

The most interesting thing about this story is that the former federal prosecutor who led MLB's investigation on Pete Rose is named John Dowd
