Greinke is going back to LA to get his elbow checked out, they say it's only precautionary be we've all heard that before. That would be a hell of a way to start that contract if he requires any surgery/time out.

I don't wish ill on a player like Greinke, but I will get a lot of personal satisfaction from any Dodgers misery.

With this list, I was thinking you were trying to be tricky and it was going to be a pitcher. Color me surprised.

Well, that was fast.

I know he's a WAR monster, so since he wasn't on the list already, I just went with him.

I remember Terry Boers going on a rant a couple years ago about how worthless these stats were if they had Zobrist as one of the best players in the game.

Zobrist pretty much being able to play any position, and play them all above average, certainly helps. He doesn't put up superstar numbers by any means, but he's easily one of the best all around and most underrated players in baseball. It's a shame he's overlooked so much in the MVP voting.

Keith Law got a new podcast from ESPN, he tweeted that the first one will be posted tomorrow and that he will do one weekly. It's called Behind The Dish.

I wish they would get more creative with the names of these things. How about...Sitting in the Player's Wives section with Keith Law

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Texas Rangers have twice tried to lock up All-Star shortstop Elvis Andrus to a long-term contract and are expected to make one more run at it this year, but people familiar with their thinking suggest that if the Rangers can't secure him to a multiyear deal they will likely trade him in "10 to 12 months.''

That means there's a pretty good chance he'll be on the block next winter -- which would open a spot for Jurickson Profar, who's considered by many to be baseball's top prospect but appears caught in a tight squeeze this year for a roster spot.

Rangers people are said not to be overly optimistic they can lock up Andrus but apparently would prefer to trade him rather than simply lose him as a free agent after 2014. They made their two prior efforts to sign Andrus in previous years but haven't yet broached the subject this year.

My apologies if anyone else has brought this up.
