Seeing Darwin Barney hit a bomb the other night saved me. I didn't see either of Barney's homers last season live. I was nervous I might never see one live.

There are reasons people can't watch ever game work, school, etc. So you can't watch every moment of the season. So there are going to be moments you miss.

I was wonder if there was a player that you haven't seen hit a homer in a cubs uniform. This question dates back to when I was 8 and I saw Rey Sanchez reach the baskets at Wrigley. Only time I saw him go deep live. Fast forward to the mid 2000s the player I never saw hit one was Paul Bako. Damn Paul Bako.

The closest I came was when I left for work one night and two minutes after I leave Pat Hughes calls out the Bako homer. I never got that close again!

Silly question I know. Also try to leave this to guys who were here at least 2 years. Not a Craig Monroe or something like that.

Seriously, like a [expletive] load of Cubs players. In replays? Sure. Live? No. I haven't seen Castro hit one. I haven't seen Byrd hit one. I never saw one of Pena's home runs live last year.

Then again... I haven't had cable or mlb.tv for two and a half years, so...

I went to a fair number of games that I was too young to remember. I'm pretty sure the only Cubs I've seen hit home runs at live ballgames out since then are Sammy Sosa (twice, including the second No. 60), Mark Bellhorn and Scott Servais.

I think he's referring to just seeing the home runs while they happen weather it be on TV or at the game. That said, I have seen a lot of games in my life and I know there are plenty of players I haven't seen homer. Players that come to mind are Rey Ordonez, Rey Sanchez, Tony Campana (though he only has one and it was an inside the parker) and Paul Bako. I'm sure there are more weak hitting players who haven't done it much that I could think of.

Who knew the Lizard King played 3B for the Pirates in the late 80's?

Paul Noce? Mike Brumley?

Almost 25 years later and the Cubs starting pitcher from that game is still in the majors.

I guess it depends on how many games you attend per season. I am proud to say I saw Bonds hit one live a few weeks before he broke Aaron's record. What a circus that was.
