I can't buy a team with drew as it's point being great, just can't.

 

I can't buy a team that plays defense like that as being great. They have some talent though. Did Parker play at all for UCLA? I had the volume down.

 

He played a little in the first half. He needs to play way more, he's raw but so much more athletic than the Wears.

Really disappointing loss for Mizzou though. Will regret that one later in the year, I think.

You shouldn't regret that. That was a tournament type intensity in another teams building. Those games make you better, IMO.

They looked good today, granted they were making shots at a rate they can't possibly keep up.

 

They played well offensively today but they don't play D, don't board and they always tire out at the end of games.

Well no one on the team plays defense. But yeah they are good guys to have off of the bench, but you don't want them starting. They remind me of Tyler Griffey.

I meant in terms of seeding. There aren't many good wins left on the schedule.

Is UCLA's S&C coach any good? I know you play a lot of young guys who haven't fully developed physically, but the team as a whole didn't look as fit as you'd hope. MUs guys looked in better shape.

It's probably not a very good reflection of my attitude as a sports fan that after a really entertaining overtime game that involves Pressey putting together a record-setting performance, that all I can feel is bitter. Bitter that Mizzou couldn't come up with just one more play in the last 4+ minutes, bitter that UCLA's performance tonight was probably greater than their record will reflect come tournament time, bitter that Mizzou lost an opportunity to get a quality road win with an uninspiring conference slate ahead, and bitter that they didn't call an intentional on the last foul on Pressey in regulation. Sigh. Hopefully they can bounce back quickly, they have a pretty good Bucknell team next weekend.

Shabazz is out of shape because he hurt his ankle and shoulder and couldn't work out for a long time. Once he got healthy, he couldn't practice because of the NCAA investigation.

 

I'm not a big fan of the basketball S&C program - they value bulk over fitness/speed.

 

Mizzou's guys just look like athletes. That's why I thought they'd run UCLA out of the gym.

i don't think so. Groce knows this team and is willing to sacrifice rebounds for guys that can shoot. we were out-rebounded by 23 and still had a chance to beat a top-12 team. if our guys shoot their average on open 3's, we win easy. missouri was lucky to win.

shaw is awful at everything. the illini have a couple of guys coming in next year that will rebound.

He rebounds decent, but yeah he overmatched at this level. Plus we need that scholarship now that Big Cliff is flirting with us.
