How in the hell did the 2 seed get to play a home game against the 1? Not that it mattered. Roy Williams is awful.

Happened to us vs ucla in 2007.

I remember that, how does the committe let that happen?

Man, I wish that run of good UCLA teams from 2006-08 were playing now rather than having to go up against those really solid Florida teams. There have been some dreadful teams making the Final Four the past few seasons.

Basically competing to be uk's sacrificial lamb.

Here we go again. Oh poor you, you guys just can't compete.

San Jose != home game for UCLA. It's 350 miles away from Westwood.

C'mon, dude. You don't think a location in california--even Norcal--isn't a home court advantage for UCLA over a team from Kansas?

11/16 S16, 5/8 E8, 3/4 FF. I'm guaranteed at least second place in my wife's office pool and if Kentucky beats Louisville, I'll win it regardless of the outcome in the other semi and the final.

I was terrible in the first round but after that, this was one of my best brackets in years.

I'm not really bagging on my team. I've watched UK this tournament. They're head and shoulders above everyone else. Would love a shot at them, but I'm realistic. It would take an amazing game from us to beat them.

Sure, UCLA had an advantage but it wasn't a "home game."

It was a similar distance for Kansas in this game. 287 miles from Lawrence to St. Louis.

As for how something like this could happen, it's not easy to make the bracket totally immune from these things. In this case, Duke was ineligible from being in this bracket because North Carolina was the 1, and obviously Missouri would have even been worse than Kansas in this spot. Ohio State was the only real option, and they are only 140 miles further than Kansas is from St. Louis. It's possible Ohio State would have been a better choice, but I don't know if all the bracket rules could have been followed if they moved there (obviously Purdue would have to go to another bracket, and I don't know how many chains of events that would set off).

What a fun game. Yes, huge advantage in terms of fan support for the Hawks. I was in a designated UNC section, and it was mostly Hawks fans. Need to watch a replay to see what really went on.

They announced the crowd at 24k or so. They can probably fit 21 in Scottrade Center for basketball. I know those three thousand extra tickets are a lot of revenue, but playing in a dome is just so lame. Don't get me wrong, still loud and a great atmosphere, but would be a lot better in a basketball arena.

Can you think of a more loathsome final four? I guess I should just be thankful that Baylor isn't in there in place of OSU?

There's no Duke though.

Seriously, what a lot of unlikable goons this turned out to be(and I'd have preferred Baylor to OSU).

When the MVC was selling out the Scottrade Center a couple of years back, I think the amount was around 18,000 or so.

It's 19,150 for hockey. Has to be more for basketball.

Edit: attendance for Mizzou-Illinois game last year was 22,087.

I never really thought we'd make it to Zou Orleans this year.

Do you guys hate Louisville/Pitino that much?

Maybe it's because their win clinched two pools for me yesterday, but I don't mind this Kansas team all that much.

It's only a few Big 12 honks and hysterical Illini fans here that think everyone across the country hates KU hoops like they are Duke or ND football

Uh, who besides Kansas fans like Kansas? These teams are all hated. I think I read they all have 9+ final four appearances? Their fans post up the 'haters gonna hate' signs and everyone else could give a [expletive] less. At least non-fans would be cheering for Mizzou or some of the other teams represented around here.

Yeah, having the games in a dome like that just sucks. I mean, the court is basically in one end zone and it's just cavernous. I haven't liked it at all when I've been at games in the dome.

So only those of us who live near their fan base? Gotcha. Key Analysis.

If Pitino and Louisville are the most likeable of the group, then you know you've got a fine group on your hands. Hopefully Kentucky runs roughshod through the whole thing, so at least the best team can win the tourney if this is the pool we have to choose from.
