hugh douglas on espn flapping his gums, talking about how he wouldn't put the kind of hit on jim miller in the 01-02 playoffs if goodell was the boss at that time. using that almost to imply that the hit was borderline and that goodell is being unreasonable. it wasn't a borderline hit, it was a dirty, after-the-whistle hit that resulted in the bears losing their starting quarterback for the duration of a single-elimination playoff game.

 

if anyone would do that again i would hope that they would face a season of suspension at least, seeing as how the outcome of the dirty play severely handicapped the opposing team's chances of victory.

Seau was one of my favorite players growing up. Played HS football against his cousin, and he apparently was at one of our games, though I had no way of seeing him.
