I love the KSK post where they completely reversed course and wanted Payton's suspension even longer after he played with Jimmy Buffett. If the parrotheads are on your side you know you are wrong.

Greg Williams was captured on audio before the last game against the 49ers by a guy doing a documentary on Steve Gleason...

“At one point Williams says, ‘We hit [expletive] Smith right there’ – then he points under his chin [and continues] – ‘remember me.’ Then he rubs his thumb against his index and middle fingers – the cash sign – and says, ‘I got the first one. I got the first one. Go get it. Go lay that [expletive] out,’” Pamphilon told Silver.

Williams has long loved the phrase, “Kill the head and the body will die,” and he used that phrase in talking to his players. He also specifically told them to go for the head of 49ers running back Frank Gore.

“We’ve got to do everything in the world to make sure we kill Frank Gore’s head,” Williams told his players. “We want him running sideways. We want his head sideways.”

Williams also talked about trying to inflict a knee injury on 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree and referenced 49ers receiver Kyle Williams, who has had multiple concussions.

“We need to find out in the first two series of the game, the little wide receiver, No. 10, about his concussion,” Gregg Williams told his players about Kyle Williams. “We need to [expletive] put a lick on him, move him to decide. He needs to decide.”

people, mostly ex-nfl players and other meatballs, will argue that it's how you HAVE to play the game.

i'm sorry, but you don't HAVE to play it like that. playing in the NFL is a license to hit people and get paid for being good at it, not license to attempt murder.

How many football coaches from high school to the NFL use hyperbole like that? "Knock his [expletive] head off!" "Put him in the ground!" "Let's kill these guys today!"

If his comments were viewed in isolation apart from BountyGate would they be all that shocking? Obviously targeting a guy who has had concussion issues is pretty damn distasteful, but is this really stunning news that coaches and NFL players are like that? Sportscasters spend copious amounts of time on TV shows saying stuff like "Is Player X's hand injury going to be a problem? ... Well John, you know the other team is going to try to get to that hand, so he really needs to do what he can to protect it."

Why are you still in denial about this?

They were told to stop and they kept doing it. Shocking has nothing to do with it, blatantly asking your players to cause concussions, and to make guys with concussions have more concussions is just flat out stupid. It's not 1978 and it hasn't been for a while. Football coaches aren't particularly smart human beings, but for the most part they are smart enough to differentiate between "hit that mother-f-er!" and remember to make that guy suffer a concussion.

The NFL has just done a great job brainwashing people. Be outraged! Herp, OK, derp.

I'm amazed that this thing is as big as it is...I HATE when the NFL pretends it is anything less than a shady, dirt baggy league. The WWE doesn't acknowledge it's level of scum, but they also don't hide from it from what I remember.

What have I denied?

Is pointing out that it's improbable that the Saints are the only team engaging in a-hole tactics a denial of anything? Quite the contrary, by suggesting that it probably isn't uncommon, I'm ADMITTING that the Saints did it, otherwise I couldn't even make that point to begin with.

Saints did it. They got caught. Were told to stop. Did it again. Lied about it. Incurred the wrath of Goodell. Those are the facts and I've never denied them. If I was in "denial" why would I have posted things like this:

trying to "get" someone's hand and trying to "kill" someone's head are two different things.

again, it's hyperbole. distasteful, tacky, over the top, meanspirited, whatever, but it's still hyperbole unless you really think that Williams or any players on the Saints wanted to actually take the life of Frank Gore.

What in the world are you talking about? The NFL has brainwashed people to be upset about a coach telling his players to "Kill their head"? And we're NOT supposed to be outraged, but we only are because the NFL wants us to be or something?

And what in the seven hells does the WWE have to do with any of this? Seriously, that was a bizzare post that made no sense at all.

yeah, that's a pretty compelling defense.

which is pretty much what he does with every issue

Personally that post is nowhere near as dumb as the NFL getting all sanctimonious or pretending the Saints are any worse than the many, many other teams who've probably done similar things.

The WWE was brought up because I always do that with the NFL....I just think its a horrible, albeit entertaining sport/league.

I'm going to duck out of this one now. Don't want to have another caraaaaaazzzyyy meltdown. I really couldn't give two craps about this Saints situation anyway...The NFL should be embracing its scumbags with open arms as far as I'm concerned.

The only thing I've "defended" the Saints on is this idea that this is somehow unique and that the Saints are the most villainous super thugs ever in the NFL and would behead opposing players and put it on LiveLeak if they could.

It all boils down to politics and politically correct garbage.

Who cares what Gregg Williams said? He's pumping up his team and trying to get them out there to lay wood on the enemy.

Big deal.

Except nobody is making that argument so you "defending" against it is kind of stupid.

There are posters on here who are acting as if Williams' statements were a real incitement to end someone's life. You labeled my statement that Williams' words were just vulgar hyperbole as "ridiculous", so I'm presuming by that response that you don't think his words were hyperbole, therefore you must think he wanted his players to literally kill Frank Gore.
