Also, as someone who is not nearly as familiar with the workings of the NFL schedule as that of the MLB, when can we expect to see FA signings start?

Feb. 20 - Teams can begin applying franchise and transition tags to players

 

Feb. 22-28 - NFL Combine (live coverage on NFL Network and NFL.com)

 

March 5 - Deadline for teams to apply franchise and transition tags

 

March 13 - Free agency begins at 4 p.m.

 

March 25-28 - NFL owners meetings (in Palm Beach, FL)

 

March 30-31 - Super Regional Combine (at Ford Field)

 

 

Late April - 2012 NFL schedule is announced

 

April 26 - First round of 2012 NFL Draft

 

April 27 - Second and third rounds of 2012 NFL Draft

 

April 28 - Rounds 4-7 of 2012 NFL Draft

 

Late July - Training camps across the league begin

 

Early August - 2012 preseason begins

 

Sept. 6 - 2012 NFL regular season begins at Giants Stadium

Ochocinco is going back to his original last name. Apparently, his soon to be wife isn't all that keen on becoming Mrs. Ochocinco.

 

Yep, about as significant a story this offseason as my teeth cleaning appointment next week.

Either that or he realized that he doesn't get that much attention from it anymore, and is going to try to find something else to make people talk about him.

 

Pay attention to your kids, or they turn into attention whores like Chad Johnson.

Maybe he already did find a new attention. From the article, it said he was marrying some woman on a reality tv show called Basketball Wives.

Apparently because of the DNC, the NFL season is going to start on a Wednesday now instead of Thursday. Pretty cool as now I believe there will have been an NFL game in recent years on every day of the week. Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday are obvious. The Bears and Vikings played on a Tuesday in 2010 because of the Metrodome's roof issue. And in 2004, on XMas eve the Packers and someone else (Lions?) played on a Friday, one of the very few times in league history that a game was played on that date. And now you have a game on a Wednesday.
