Ugh, that's just a brutal punch in the gut for 49ers fans.

 

Good news for them is that the Giants have Tynes, the least clutch kicker ever in the times I've seen him kick in big games.*

 

 

 

*He hit a FG to send the Giants to the SB against the Packers, but was his 3rd attempt at a game winning FG.

The 2007 NFC Championship game. Just looked it up, he missed a 43 yard FG attempt to give the Giants the lead with 6 minutes left in the 4th, missed a potential game winning 36 yard FG attempt on the last play of regulation, and then finally hit in OT to win it.

I guess his paper doesn't hold staff to a higher standard. That's a major league meltdown.
