Romo is really, really overrated. Seriously, he's done ok with a ton of resources. Yayyy.

He's done "ok?"

Seriously?

Given the talent he's been surrounded by, he sure could have done a hell of a lot better.

I'm kind of a passive observer here, but your're laying on the Romo love a bit heavy.

By saying that he's better than Jay Cutler and by saying that a guy who has a CAREER QB rating of 97 (flawed stat or no, that is an indication of damn good performance) has been better than OK?

lol. He's better than Tom Brady! (Career QB rating of 96.4) He's only behind Aaron Rodgers.

Since we're arguing with admittedly flawed stats, I'm going to submit a Sportsnation poll.

http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/post/_/id/7932812/tony-romo-top-five-qb

41% have him in the top half, and not the top 10. Though it's a reasonably close poll. So there's obviously a lot of dispute on the topic. It's at the very least, not as clear cut as you believe it is, for a lot of us.

I couldn't find a sportsnation poll on Jay.

Seriously? You don't see the difference between using a SN poll and a somewhat flawed stat that still is a good indicator of good overall performance?

Comparing him to someone within a point or two vs comparing him to someone within around 10? Not even to mention the fact that I was taking issue with your contention that he's been "ok," not with the suggestion that he's not better than Cutler.

And I think we can all pretty accurately guess where an ESPN poll would put Jay Cutler.

Are you trolling right now or what?

The bold makes your post seem childish at best. Actually, so does the ESPN poll.

But ok, in your world, a guy who has a career QB rating of 97, 149 TD to 72 INT, 8.03 yards/attempt in about 5.5 seasons has been "OK." Got it.

I'm not trolling at all. I think QB rating is a pretty poor example when it puts Tony Romo as the 2nd best active QB in football. I'm just not taking it all that seriously because I really don't think it's all that serious of a debate...being so subjective and all, but ok. Eli Manning's career QB rating is 82.1. Do you think Romo is a far better QB than Eli? That's a 15 point difference.

Career QB rating is going to be friendlier to QB's that had strong early years. Does that tell us much in a debate over who the good QB's are now?

The "Best QB" debate is still super subjective obviously, because it's such a team sport. I think the Cowboys have had a ton of resources put into their offense that have benefited them. Romo had a nice cushion having TO still being an awesome receiver when he first came up.

Romo puts up decent numbers, but I just don't think he's all that impressive. Sorry if that stuns or boggles.

How about instead of calling him "ok" I call him "good, but uninspiring". Will that offend less?

if you remove the uninspiring part, then yes. Romo's a good qb that's hated because the majority of his team's fanbase are idiots and 40-year old women who latch onto what their meathead UFC-loving 24-year old boyfriends say.

Also, I recommend watching with speakers off.

Thanks for the speaker warning!

That someone in 2008 somehow thought it was acceptable in any way, shape or form to listen to that song is horrifying.

League sources said there has been considerable progress between the Bears and Matt Forte ... There are still issues to hash out regarding the average per year on the deal over the first three years, and how it could compare to say Marshawn Lynch's new deal, but there has been movement on what the deal might look like over five years.

I just posted the video of Jay doing the 7th inning stretch on a friends facebook wall and soon after Facebook recommended the 'Vanderbilt Greek Life' page as one I might like. Gotta love that algorithm

Yep, along with Ray Rice and Wes Welker. Forte's the only one of those 3 expected to have a real possibility of coming to an agreement though.

Forte is signed. All over twitter now

4 years at an average of about $8m.

Doesn't sound too cap friendly since the franchise number was below $8m.

The guaranteed money will tell the tale.

Hearing it's very similar to the Lynch deal

That was 4 years 31M with 17 guaranteed.

4 years/32 million. My guess is the guaranteed is between 18-20. Still you stayed out the realm of those contracts given to AD, Chris Johnson, and DeAngelo Williams(most asinine contract ever)
