Adam Caplan reports that the Bengals have scheduled a free agent meeting with defensive tackle Amobi Okoye.

 

The visit will take place following this week’s NFL owners meetings.

 

Okoye, who’s still only 24 years old, tallied four sacks off the bench for the Bears last season. In Cincinnati, he could spell starting “three-technique” tackle Geno Atkins when Atkins needs a breather. The Bengals’ other defensive tackles are Domata Peko, Pat Sims, and Nick Hayden.

Nickle guy, possible starter, what do you guys think? He fell out of favor, didn't he?

 

Yeah, Trib said the Bears weren't interested in keeping him.

Barely had his name called all last year. Either never made plays or was never on the field. Not a good sign either way.

I sometimes get the obscure Bears CBs mixed up with each other so I could be wrong but didn't he fill the 2nd CB role admirably 2-3 seasons ago, to the point where some thought he was a decent long term answer?

zack zaidman just said his sources close to the situation have said that there is a tape of what happened in the marshall incident. a fight spilling out of a night club, the woman in question was hit, but not be marshall. the police tried to follow up with her, she declined to make herself available to them. the police have no desire to question marshall further.

 

everything appears to be a go.
