I'd like to see them sign Gaither or Winston. You can address DE in the draft.

Weems seems like the exact same player that Sam Hurd was/is, but shorter and better at returning. Special teamer and a 5th WR. My only concern with this signing is does it mean the Bears aren't going to draft a WR?

Still have Bennett and Hester. Sanzenbacher's still around, and while not guaranteed a spot...he did some positive things at times last year. And Knox is still going to be on the team in 1 way or another. Marshall replaces Roy. Weems replaces Hurd. Do the Bears see this as a full roster of WRs? Are they not counting on Knox at all? If they do think Knox could contribute anything this year, would they really draft a WR, making Knox the 4th and Hester the 5th WR?

Sanzenbacher can go bye bye. If the right WR is there (and the best available player) at your pick I think you have to take him.

I know that. You know that. But do the Bears think the position is solved? I still think they need a WR in the first 3 rounds. Maybe even the 1st.

I don't think they should be entirely done addressing the WR position, but DE and TE are big needs at this point, either through FA or draft. I've actually liked LoPan's idea of a guy like Jenkins in a later round while focusing on defense early in the draft. But, if Floyd is there at 19, it becomes a good problem to have.

Would LOVE Gaither. Marcus McNeill is probably more likely.

Marcus McNeill also. I'd then look to draft whoever lasts longest on the board between Mercilus, Nick Perry, and Coples...possibly trading up for any of them if necessary.

Yeah, but we can't really fault Emery for not sticking with Angelo's trash pick.

I can fault him for overreacting to the backup QB situation.

True. But hopefully he'll be able to draft better quality QB's to fill that role moving forward.

The current TE depth chart is a concern to me. I'd be fine with them bringing back Davis, but without him, I'd say it's a big need.

I'd be thrilled with McNeill, let alone Gaither. Then draft Mercilus or Perry, use your 2nd for a stud S or CB, draft Sulleys guy in the 4th/5th

holy hell, team rebuilt in one year

yeah, if we can bring back kellen davis, we have spaeth and whomever the other guys are that won't play are. would be nice to have a pure pass-catcher, but lovie is confident in davis to be that guy.

then sign gaither or mcneill.

1. Whitney Mercilus, DE

2. Kevin Zeitler, OG

3. Casey Hayward, CB

4. Sean Spence, OLB

5. AJ Jenkins, WR

This is the second offseason in a row I've been disappointed that we didn't sign Gaither.

it's mind boggling. no matter how many times jay gets whacked in the mouth, kicked, stepped on, punched in the head, attacked by zombies, etc. they just don't give a [expletive] about improving at LT.

i don't think we can expect webb to improve much more. at this point, you have to say he's just about a finished product.

you're confident he'll drop that far? he seems like a rd 2 pick to me

most places have him as a late 5th rounder. why? i have no idea.

I'd see him as a steal in the 4th, a possible late 2nd, and decent value pick in the 3rd

I'm confused.
