Pujols isn't going to be a St Louis icon.

Yeah, what's he ever done there? He'll definitely enter the Hall wearing an Angels hat.

The "Pujols won't be a STL icon/We'll never retire his number/he's dead to us" shtick is what butthurt Cards fans who had their ridiculous self-delusions of baseball romance shattered are saying. The same ones who are daft enough to believe that Stan Musial would never have left if he had been presented with the chance to be paid more by someone else.

He is a St. Louis icon. Barring him winning 3-4 rings and breaking the HR record with the Angels, he will always be identified most with the Cardinals.

No one in this thread is trolling. It's a thread about a rival, yes, so a certain amount of snark from both sides is expected, but it seems like the discussion has been pretty reasonable, with good arguments from both sides about how much of a difference the signings in replacement of Pujols can make.

The impact of Pujols leaving his former team is seen as more significant around here than it is elsewhere. That much is clear.

No Kidding Around may not be intentionally trolling, but he's clearly a Cards Talk level idiot.

His being sincere isn't a possibility I had considered. If he is, then yes, you're right.

I guess I've learned to just ignore the CT-type talk, I pretty much missed those contributions. You are correct.

sure...

lot of Cubs fans simply cannot fathom the idea that the Cardinals will ever win another game now that Jose Pujols is gone. I'm exaggerating, but that's summarizing a lot of the feelings from that discussion.

They're going to be rather miffed when they are looking up in the standings at the Cards likely landing anywhere between 90-94 wins in 2012, all while quietly praying: "Oh Theo, bless this thy Cubs team..."

:D

He may have started off that way but the last few pages seem like full on trolling.

I'm just kinda confused... Has NKA proffered himself as a Cubs fan in the past (hard to tell from the inconsistency w/ which he talks about the Cards; alternating between "we" & "them"). Not that it matters, just confused; wanna know know so I can get a grip on his bias.

Looking at his post history, up until the past post season, he posted very little and while he never professed himself as a Cardinals fan he was vet protective of them.
