I love that Rose has his own rule named after him, but I hate the actual rule because it hurts the Bulls.

OK Bulls you have 6 years to prove to Rose that you want to win.

I know it seems unfathomable that Rose would even consider leaving the Bulls down the road, but Cavs fans felt the same way with LeBron when he got his first extension. He was also a hometown superstar who at the time said all the right things and pledged to remain with Cleveland. It's not very likely, but if the Bulls end up not quite getting over the hump over the next 6 years, due in part to management being unwilling to dip their toes in the luxury tax level to get that one final piece, I could see Derrick "I just want to win" Rose considering other options. People change and as players advance through their careers, they begin to realize they have a limited time in this game and don't want to play their whole career without a title.

Anyways, I know I'm opening up a can of words, talking about something that won't be an issue for 6 years, and even still is like a 2% chance as it stands now, but I hope the Bulls brass has this at least in the back of their minds as the years pass.

Not quite the same scenario. Rose is from Chicago and grew up a Bulls fan. LeBron is from Akron (I know it's in the Cleveland area but they view it differently there) and did NOT grow up a Cavs fan. Plus, LBJ is a bitch and DRose is not.

I'm sure Cleveland fans weren't saying that LeBron was a bitch when he was on the Cavs.

Watching Rose and Hamilton run the floor together last night was very pretty.

I read a Detroit guy saying that in his opinion, Rip vince cartered the pistons once dumars started running things into the ground. It would be hilarious (and scary for the league) if rip had a lot more gas than everyone thought.

Well he has more than Bogans. I think we can say that with some confidence.

Derrick Rose's favorite teams growing up also weren't the Yankees, Cowboys and Lakers. They're seemingly completely different people. If Reinsdorf continues to refuse to go above the luxury tax over the next six years, and the Bulls keep barely missing championships, I would completely understand Rose leaving. But he's not going to do it because he likes South Beach and wants to play with his friends.

You don't know any of this.

Know any of what? You're right I don't know about Rose's character (hence why I said "seemingly" completely different). But LeBron has stated in interviews his favorite teams growing up were the best teams in each league.

With Rip as Bull Miami will no longer be able to completely ignore the off guard position as in last years conference final. It was five on four during that final.

But Miami has Battier now.

Wade, Lebron, and Battier on Rose, Deng and Hamilton is a win for Miami if LBJ plays DRose like he did last season. I do think Wade can be picked on a little bit, but it would be nice if Boozer would step up and give us a consistent go-to inside.

What is the Derrick Rose rule?

The rule allows a player finishing his rookie contract to make 30 percent of a team's salary cap -- up from 25 percent -- if he's twice been voted an All-Star starter, twice been voted All-NBA or won an MVP award. Rose, 23, is the reigning MVP.

Basically the Bulls will be paying roughly $10 million more than they would have with the old CBA.

Still underpaid.

So Kobe is gonna be out for the Christmas game? Bummer.

I think he'll play. Bulls will win either way.

Also, something I read on Twitter: Tuesday's Bulls game was the highest rated Chicago pre-season game... ever. EVER

Odd definition of "any" that means "25% or so"

"The celtics haven't won any NBA championships"
