Andruw Jones would be a solid platoon for Jackson, DeJesus, and Colvin, especially if Soriano and/or Byrd are traded. Salary around $2 million with .924 OPS last year against LHP (.866 last 3 years). Also, can play all 3 positions in a pinch.

If he wants to sign for 2 mil, why not. This is a team that figures to struggle for power and especially if Soriani and/or Byrd are traded be very lefty heavy especially in the outfield and the bench. However, he has a career .225/.263/.431/.694 line at Wrigley and much of that was when he was good.

But that was facing the awesome Cubs' pitching staff. LOL He could be the opposite of Jeff Blauser.

Yeah, I hate that argument. WSR's is the opposite of the one that popped up all the time in the 80's and 90's when people wanted so and so because they had a .356 BA at Wrigley and was at .270 overall. Let's see, .356 against a crappy Cubs staff, let's get him!

Though regarding Jones, I wouldn't mind him as a platoon partner for the right price. He's been decent the last couple of years and if you aren't counting on 150+ games of .850+ OPS, he wouldn't be a bad choice for the right price. Not for long term, though. 1 year w/option for 2nd year max.

I really, really thought Blauser would be an awesome signing :(

Someone really should have told me about BABIP back then.

Haha same here. He came from a winning team, was supposedly a great fielder and had those cool flip-downs.

That was like the first time I realized how stupid Cubs management can be, going after a guy because of how well he hit in Wrigley Field. Overpaying for a well past his prime "proven veteran" coming off a fluke career year.

If I weren't 11 and a new baseball fan, I likely would'be flipped out.
