isn't there some rule with the BCS where they can take a non-conference champ over a conference champ if the champion is out of the BCS Top 25 or something?

I could be making this up

A non-AQ school can qualify for the BCS without filling the usual qualifications for doing so if they finish ahead of one of the BCS AQ champs in the final standings. I think that's what you're thinking of. There is no scenario in which a BCS AQ champ does not go to a BCS game.

I knew I had that wrong

That said, I think LSU wins out and makes this moot. I can't seem them losing a home game to Arkansas, especially since Arkansas got killed by Alabama earlier this year.

I think if OSU and Stanford lose, that Boise could sneak in to the title game. The voters proved hesitant in 2006 with OSU/Mich to have a rematch in the title game. So if LSU wins out, I think that eliminates Bama and Oregon. If Oregon beats Stanford, that takes Stanford out of the running and ditto for OSU with Oklahoma, since neither Stanford nor OSU would even play in their respective conference title games (same would go for Bama). I doubt any of Penn State/VaTech/Clemson climb that much if they win out.

Then it comes down to how much the voters punish Oklahoma for the Texas Tech loss vs. Boise's schedule.

The intriguing question in my mind is, if Oregon and Alabama end up having the two best resumes for #2 in the nation, which rematch would voters choose?

If there were any other 1-loss teams, or Boise was available, I'd hope they'd avoid either. That said, if there would have to be a rematch I'd rather see the one further removed from the original game (Oregon).

I want to say Oregon because they would have made and won the Pac-12 title game while Alabama would have finished second in their own division. But I have no idea. For that to happen, I'd think Oklahoma would have to lose to Baylor or Iowa State but beat Oklahoma State with Oklahoma State losing another game also since a one-loss OSU would still win the conference title over a two-loss OU.

Barring the other top teams completely tanking their last couple games, I can't see Oregon or Bama making the title game.

What kind of a tool wears a shirt and a tie to a game?

Very common/nearly mandatory attire of the frat daddies who attend football games at southern universities. See it all the time at LSU games.

Yeah, but rivalry games don't always conform to logic or expectations. Wouldn't put it past Arkansas to take it, though LSU would certainly be the favorite.

I've also seen it a good deal at Auburn and BAMA.

Joe Strauss, a [expletive] journalist from the P-D, was talking on Twitter like Alabama-LSU was a classic. From the minimal reactions I've read, it was a snoozer. Anyone want to see a rematch?

Only if the defense only gets 9 players

As an LSU fan, I don't want a rematch with Bama because I'm not sure the Tigers win a second time. That being said, they are clearly the best team LSU has played and likely better than any of the other MNC game contenders.

In no way was it clear that that 2nd to last play was a TD. Ball comes down before the hands and they're never going to give that to the receiver.

Especially when the call on the field was incomplete.

4 missed FGs and an INT at the 1 that was arguably not an INT. Yeah, I'm not sure LSU would win a rematch either.

Agreed. But those four missed FG's were all over 45 yds. Bama would have been better to have punted and played field position in all but the missed OT FG.

On the plus side of LSU, if they do rematch it would be in the Superdome which would put HFA on the side of LSU.
