I still think it's going to be hilarious when Kaplan realizes just what Theo & Co. are all about. He probably gets a stiffy thinking about Dustin Pedroia, Youk, the Eckstein thing and the rings, but doesn't really understand the method.

 

When he realizes Theo doesn't give a [expletive] about grit and doesn't place a premium on hustle, his head is going to explode (or implode). He'll probably feel bamboozled. Violated, even.

 

It's also amazing how thin his skin is.

 

 

I don't agree with this. If you have been reading the interviews from Hoyer and Theo, they do seem to care quite a bit about player makeup.

 

There's a difference between caring about player makeup and Kaplan's "I WAS TOLD THERE'D BE NO BROWN PEOPLE" outlook on blaming players.

Yea, but, to be fair, he doesn't seem to really get on Hispanic guys who don't have lapses in effort, as far as I remember.

 

I love Aramis, but he, like Soriano, has had his WTF moments (moreso Soriano with the watching of non-HR fly balls and crap like that). I'm thinking those are the main guys he has gotten on.

 

I'm not saying those qualities are a big deal to me (I don't think Soriano has a great work ethic, but I don't think it matters that much), but I think it's a big deal to toss the term "racist" around when I thireally he's just kind of a meatball fan.

 

I know he loves Pujols and I'm pretty sure he was cool with Pena (could be wrong on that - and it could be that the meatbally fan can't get over the K's/low avg). Is that the equivalent of saying, "I'm not racist. I've got black friends?"

Well, Kenney would be losing some power I guess, so I can see this sort of ringing true. That said, I take everything from the media in this process with a grain of salt. Boston media is blaming Kenney (gee, wonder which side leaked that information), while wasn't it Leviine the other day that was blaminig Henry?

This source said he would not be surprised to see the front office hire Ryne Sandberg as manager and then he in turn name Larry Bowa as his bench coach and possibly add Mark Grace somewhere on the staff. What a buzz that would create.

I got into it with him on twitter when that exact thing happened to reed johnson. Five minutes later, he write a critiquing post about the play. Not sure if that was a cya our a legitimate criticism. Overall,.he's a douche, but for some reason, he had pretty good sources, maybe its crane?

I find that really hard to believe, just for the simple fact that Ricketts has been the one in charge of this whole deal and I just don't think there's any way he would let Kenney be any sort of stumbling block to putting together his front office dream team.
