Sigh. No. Just no.

Memo to Theo Epstein: Parts of old Cubs regime are worth keeping

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/8379686-419/memo-to-theo-epstein-parts-of-old-cubs-regime-are-worth-keeping.html

Cliffs Notes:

Randy Bush was nice to me, Crane Kenney was not.

My god this article was terrible.

This isn’t so much about Gammons as it is about how quickly some of the most valuable members of the old regime seem to be easily — and foolishly — forgotten.

If the Cubs’ two-year ownership doesn’t want to risk repeating some of the mistakes of the franchise’s mostly miserable past, it might want to keep in mind some of the things that actually went right over the past decade or so and consider keeping some of those responsible.

They extended two main guys prior to this hire already.

He also compared Boston's last two seasons to the Cubs last two by noting neither team made the playoffs in those two years. I guess the fact that Boston won 33 more games than the Cubs in those two years is meaningless.

Will there be a place where it can be watched live online? I do not own a TV and I seriously doubt a local restaurant will be down for turning on a press conference and playing it over the sound system during lunch hour

I bet a bar would do that for you.

ETA: CSN has it online

Awesome, thanks.

It's possible to pull it off in a bar, but where I work is a lawyerville in the middle of meathead football central. It's bad enough I had to watch the freaking World Series last night on one TV in a bar that had 12 of them because everyone else had to watch the Saints score a billion points against a shitty team instead.

It's cool, you can watch this boring blowout regular season game and I'll just go over here in the corner and watch this major sports world championship game. It doesn't really mean anything, it's cool

I was in the bar that sponsors my football team trying to watch the D-Backs/Brewers series, and it got turned off so a high school football game could be shown on a 3rd TV...

Waddle and Silvy retweeted a pic of Theo out to lunch at Vines on Clark.

Yeah, the pic above is apparently from him heading out to lunch.
