The last two years when many thought he was being a crappy owner he was just letting the team purge itself. Amazing brain trust (almost) in place and they are going to have only 2 years of Soriano after this season inherited.

I don't think they're going to have any years of Soriano.

Wow this is amazing, all this blue balls Theo's been giving me and Mr. Ricketts just gave me a happy ending and finished it off. I can go to bed and wake up one happy [expletive] camper.

as awesome as kaplan's coverage of this situation has been, it will never balance the scales for saying he'd rather have a team of 9 ryan theriots than 9 aramis ramirez'zs

this is pretty awesome stuff though.

does abuck still exist? I heard kaplan say on the radio that epstein went on tour with pearl jam. i mean, can that friedman guy say that? pff

My personal favorite Gammons moment was when he came on BBTN at the trade deadline in 2004 and categorically said Nomar was not going to be traded, less than an hour before it was announced that he was.

my favorite was when he went on espnnews and said that nomar was going nowhere 5 min after the deadline, just as the cubs/red sox trade news came across the bottom of the screen

I think that is what I was remembering there. Regardless, Ol' Pete's track record for predictions and factual reporting is not so hot.

Indeed. He was all over the Harden trade weeks before it happened. His sources are usually spot-on when it comes to the Cubs.

He's very well connected. Too bad he's a slobbering buffoon.
