We win.

Hope the Hawks enjoyed their 2 week winter break. They have a lot of work to do to make up for that BS road trip.

If the last 96 hours, the Hawks have won 3 games in regulation, including 2 of them being against top 4 NHL teams (in terms of points).

Are teams in hockey usually as streaky as the Hawks seem to be in the last few years (even the Stanley Cup year.). It seems like they always win a few in bunches or lose a few in bunches. Maybe it's just my perception.

I'd say hockey was similar to baseball in that regard- one player can dominate the game making it possible for a bad team to beat a good team.

And yet it looks like Frolik will still be a scratch. He's deep in the doghouse.

Morrison is in.

I see no reason for Scott to be in the lineup against Detroit.

no Datsyuk tonight.

No Toews either.

I was going to miss the first couple of periods because of my son's BB game tonight. No Toews and Datsyuk will lesson me having to miss.

Kronwall has been very effective this year with his hits on unsuspecting right wingers. I can see Q thinking John Scott may prevent that from happening.

I'm not any less interested in the game, but I know what you mean.

In other news, TSN says Carolina wants resolution on Ruutu by Wednesday or they'll put him back on the market. Of course he's hurt for another few weeks...

I can see Q thinking that, but he would be wrong.

As a Wings fan I am interested in Ruutu. Carolina's posturing has me thinking that their asking price may be too high. However, I would be willing to overpay a bit if the Wings could sign him to a contract after the season. I think he would be a good replacement for Holmstrom/Bertuzzi.

Without out a doubt he would be wrong. Kronwall isn't going to fight anyone. Scott cannot catch him to hit him. Scott would just end up fighting Bertuzzi or Adelkader. Both Bertuzzi and Adelkader will just tie him up after a couple of punches

I'd gladly trade no 5 minutes of Adelkader for 5 minutes of John Scott.

Now this is true. I thought about that on Sunday when Crombeen looked like he was trying to goad either 2 or 7 into a fight. Thankfully they were smarter than that.

Much as I would like to see the Hawks play a very physical game tonight, I don't see it happening.

Probably not newsworthy, but the Hawks traded Segal to Tampa for "future considerations." He actually had 25 points in 53 games in Rockford, which I didn't know. But whatever.

Also saw that Nabokov has a no-movement clause. Do they just give those out like candy now?

EDIT: And the Wings got Kyle Quincey. Good move, eh newusername?

I do not mind Quincey. I may even think he could possibly be worth a very late 1st rounder. I just think it has to be slightly embarrassing to the Wings how Quincey has gone full circle and cost a draft pick because management valued other young dman more highly.
