8-2...jesus what the [expletive] is wrong with our defense/goalies. I'm not watching so I'm legitimately wondering...maybe they should have left Emery in

Last goal was quite fluky. On the PP the point man's stick broke as he shot, went right to the guy beside the net and he knocked it in.

OK that explains one of them.

Haha. Yeah, only one I've seen. The only thing I can really notice for an explanation is how much faster Edmonton looks than us.

It was a nightmarish night defensively, in particular for Duncan Keith, who was on the ice for seven Oilers goals and finished with a minus-4. Against the Flames, the onetime Norris Trophy winner was also a minus-4.

Although I'm not sure how you could be on the ice for 7 goals, and be a minus 4 when your team scores 2 goals, that's absolutely pathetic and embarrassing. I'm starting to dislike Keith in general.

being on the ice during a PP goal doesn't count toward +- (i think)

I wouldn't go nearly as far as what you said about Keith though.

You are right, I knew that. My bad.

He's just frustrating sometimes, not consistent, still makes a ton of horrible turnovers in the zone. He does a lot of things right too and is overall a good player but I expect him to be a top tier 2 way defenseman and he's not acting like it most of the time.

Keith is better when paired with Seabrook. John Scott being terrible makes Keith have to play 30 minutes a game which is insane.

Neither Crawford nor Emery are as bad as they played this weekend.

But if you have to blame someone, I nominate Ben Smith.

OLESZ WAS THE GLUE

Well on the bright side, we only gave up 1 goal tonight.

On the downside, we forgot to get any ourselves.

This team is hot and cold and really frustrating.

The Hawks were talking rather positively after the game despite the loss. They were happy they played much better so that's good. That said they have to win these last 2 games against two pretty good teams to even have a .500 trip, which would still make it somewhat successful. I say anything less than 3 points this weekend is a disappointing trip.
