Losing Danieal Manning could be the death of this team. Safety play has been pathetic this year. Wright, Steltz, now Meriweather have made inexcusable mistakes multiple times.

Yup. It took Manning a long time to become an above average safety and shortly after that, he's gone.

That is exactly why Tim Jennings should not be a starting corner back in a cover 2 defense. He actually was there for the play, but Newton just pushed him into the pylon with him.

I thought safety would be a strength this year considering how many resources we've spent on that position group between trades (Chris Harris), draft picks (Wright, Steltz, Conte) and FA signings (Merriweather)

 

Instead we have one player I feel good about starting, and we can't keep him on the field (Harris).
