Looks like we will be playing in harsh conditions throughout April. Would have been nice to tie an Atlanta/Houston visit with the Miami trip, or swap the Brewers series to Miller Park.

If the Cubs screw the fans, particularly combo plan holders, with night games April 9, 10, and 11, I'm punching someone.

What do you want them to do schedule day games that nobody will attend?

What do you want them to do schedule Monday-Tuesday day games that nobody will attend?

In the past, they've generally saved night games for at least the middle to end of April as a courtesy to the fans that have to sit through the cold. That is probably going to end this year.

Why are they opening so late? Is it another WBC year?

April 5th is late?

didn't they open up on like April 11th this year?

Game 1 was on April 1st this year.

My bad. That said they opened up on the 5th last year, and the 6th in 2009

I'm optimistic that next year's season opener will be very interesting...For one we'll probably see Strasburg, which is awesome....for another both the Cubs and Nationals are two teams who could see a jump in the offseason. Plus the Nationals are one of those mid-market teams who *could* possibly play as a big market team in the long run...That series and the Boston series are two I'd like to get to next year.

Boston 2 years in a row after playing them once in the first 13 years of interleague play?

That is weird, do they do some kind of formula to figure out who plays who or is it random as to what AL team you play. I know back in the beginnings of inter league play they would go one division vs one division but changed it when they decided that they wanted to have rivalries that couldn't really be done that way or something.

Oh, and the Cubs playing in the Twins new park is intriguing. Then again Minneapolis is a 8 hour drive from me so I don't know if I'd want to do that or not.

I think there are general division matchups, but its been getting more random by the year. The NL Central, with 6 teams, is always mismatched and there are always weird matchups to go around.

I like that we get all of our games vs. The Phillies out of the way nice and early, and depending on what happens in the offseason, they're the only team that really worries me.

i like this one... a year after the cubs finish 15 or 20 games below .500, you're suggesting that they might be the #2 team in the national league, without having any knowledge about what the cubs do in the offseason.

The Cubs might actually still be in contention when they come to SF next year. Last time that happened was 2008.

If you think the Cubs can win the Central next year, it's really not too far fetched.

Where does it say they The Cubs might be the #2 team in the NL? I said the Phils are the only team that really worries me. Aside from them, there really arent any world beaters in the NL unless somebody goes on a spending spree. Assuming that the new management decides to spend on what we really need, I think we can contend, and I'm glad that we have the NLs top dog out of the way early.
