Lake and LeMahieu walk on the same day?

From now on October 17th will be known as Lake and LeMahieu Took a Walk in the Same Game Day.

LeMahieu actually has 5 walks in 11 games now. Probably just a fluke, but good to see nonetheless.

As I noted in the infamous Theo thread, Vitters has been AWOL since Friday. Is this a normal stretch of time to not play or is he hurt or something? He had a 7 game hit streak and a 4-5 day heading into this absence.

It has nothing to do with Theo.

Hence why I phrased the question around a possible injury or just AFL procedure. Good job on reading.

I was clarifying for you since you posted it in the Theo thread.

He had some decent walk totals in college, so there's further hope.

Sorry, I was under the impression we were trying to keep all unfunny posts in that thread. My bad.

Whaddya know, Lake not only went deep to opposite field and swiped a bag today, but also took a walk.

He really fills up a stat sheet (good and bad). Is there anybody comparable to him who's had success in MLB? That's the only thing that's holding me back. Otherwise, I love that combination of power, speed, and the position he plays. He has that horrible BB/K ratio, but he's good in every single other area.

I believe Lake's HR was actually his 4th.

I was going to ask if you could start posting in all lowercase with no punctuation again, but then realized you never stopped.

In other news, Junior Lake has a .400 OBP, so enjoy that while it lasts I guess.

Indeed it was, which is tied for the league lead. Lake leads the league in stolen bases by a wide margin. He's got 9. The next closest guy has 5 and that's LeMahieu. All the other stolen base leaders have at least 1 caught stealing except Lake. He's 9-for-9. Power and speed is a nice combination. If only performing well in the AFL meant something...

I can't help but notice that Jeff Beliveau hasnt thrown so much as an inning yet. Is he hurt or not yet reported or what's the deal?

He was pitching for Team USA in the World Cup.

Vitters is in the lineup today. Carrie Muskat tweeted earlier today that he was originally on the AFL roster as a backup OF and was subbing in for an injured teammate at 1B (Joe Mahoney). Now, Mahoney is healthy so his playing time has diminished (I'm guessing he's on the taxi squad then).

I wish he had gone to an international winter league if he was only going to get sporadic playing time.

ouch, I remember watching Joe Mahoney the last few years. Decent talent, but nothing too exceptional. Didn't think he was any better than say, a Rebel Ridling type of guy.

I wish he had gone elsewhere too if their plan was to start getting him increased work at other positions. Otherwise, he's not getting that much game work at other spots.
