Campana is going to get himself walked to second

Wow, he's at 14 SB and 1 CS?

He got caught once? Did he trip or something?

June 17 vs. the Yankees on a pitch-out (and he was only out because his leg was up (face first slide) and the SS (not Jeter) made a great tag reaching back across his body to get Campana on his foot).

What did you expect Soriano to say?

I dunno, "I'm having a tough year, but despite this, I am glad I can still contribute in some ways."

Soooooooooo many meatballs are going to be demanding Campana gets the starting job in RF so he can lead off next season.

I definitely hope the Cubs don't even consider something like that, but I do hope they pencil in Campana for the roster. Even if he has a .550 OPS next season (it's .654 so far this year but that might be a little inflated), he's one of the few players in the league who can be valuable on a bench for his defense/speed alone.

Sure, he potentially has a role he can play. It's just a pet peeve of mine how worked up certain segments of the fanbase get over guys like him.

I'd have no problem with Campana as a 5th outfielder/set of legs.

I just hope that Rodrigo Lopez isn't suckering anyone into thinking he's a viable option for next years 5th starter.

It was Soriano's 10th straight season with at least 20 homers and his 126th as a Cub, tying him for 15th all-time with Andy Pafko.

Well, that's a terribly written sentence.

Nice catch. I didn't realize how many people played 126 or more seasons with the Cubs.

AKA something a professional athlete is going to say maybe .00001% of the time.

He just needs to watch Bull Durham. Crash Davis gives sage advice on how to deal w/ the media; simply give canned, vanilla responses.

You mean like Soriano did?
