cub fans shouldn't complain about their team not winning a championship because nobody [expletive] cares that the team you like doesn't win enough. sports are supposed to be fun to watch; stop spending your time whining and ruining other peoples' experience. if it's so hard being a cubs fan, then just start cheering for the yankees and you can see your team win a championship every 3 years or whatever.

I agree with all of your logic, but want to point out that from my experience it seems like fans of other teams that I encounter, want me to complain about the Cubs lack of championships and expect it from not just me but any Cubs fan they encounter.

That pisses me off more than the lack of championships does.

Faaaading. They'll finish at least 6 games under .500.

Derrek Lee and Ryan Ludwick will lead them to the ring

I at least hope they win 82 games this year. Of all pro sports franchises, the Pirates fans (both of them) deserve a winning season and some hope.

Completely disagree. They've sucked for 20 years. Big deal. Pirates fans are Steelers and Penguins fans, and their teams have won multiple titles since that time.

So by your logic, Cubs fans can't complain about the lack of a championship in our lifetimes because most Cubs fans are Bulls and Blackhawks fans, and those teams have won championships in recent memory? That makes no sense.

Not all Cub fans are Blackhawks or Bulls fans. I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone from Pittsburgh that isn't a Steelers / Penguins fan.

Or someone not from Pittsburgh who is a Pirates fan.

In the modern history of Major League Baseball that began in 1900, no team has fared worse than these Pirates after holding first place through 100 games. Actually, no team has even come close. The Pirates' 16-40 record down the stretch makes for a .286 winning percentage. Next-worst was the 1977 Chicago Cubs, who went 60-40 to lead their division through 100 games, then went 21-41 for a .339 winning percentage.
