Hey Men in Blue, it looks like you're new here. This community prefers having fewer threads with more content. There are no qualms about 50, 60, 100+ threads.

Double-posting is especially frowned upon but it happens, especially if you're posting from a phone.

and no matter where you post information such as this, dont expect anyone to react well to the post unless you include some documentation

I don't mind a new thread. This is good info and I didn't make it over to whatever other thread it was posted in.

Why won't we trade Demp? Other than the fact that his value is much lower than it could be with his contract and poor performance this year. I probably wouldn't trade him either unless a great deal came around.

Yes, people here are VERY sensitive that you follow all rules and regulations. There will be no deviation in something as serious as a dying Cubs message board. As you can see, these strict guidelines have created a vibrant community with hundreds, ney, thousands of posters. I can barely keep up with all the conversation happening here. I mean, we get 1 or 2 new threads a day! Sometimes it gets as crazy as three per day, if you count the game threads! How dare you add to the clutter around here!

This message board isn't dying, the F'in Cobs are just historically frustrating.

I've been lurking at this board for the entirety of my adult life and I'll be damned if it dies on me. All of my best jokes were stolen from here.

Anyway, I don't really have a problem with those three not being traded. Marshall is awesome and Marmol is destined to sit on our DL for most of the next decade, so there is no use fighting it. Dempster wouldn't get us anything worth nearly as much as his 5 or 6 awesome jokes per year. Each of those are valued at 1.5 wins a piece.

Feel free to find your way to another one of the MANY popular Cubs message boards nowadays. The Cubs are hot and people are very excited to talk all things Cubs.

Thou shall not start threads about the Cubs on a Cubs mssg board.

Was it *really* that hard to type out "message." It seems like it would have taken more effort to think out "Okay, how do I want to abbreviate this word." than it would have been to make the three extra keystrokes to insert the vowels.

The fact that Hendry continues to be able to say stuff as an employee of the Cubs is the real news.

Until this changes, we're perpetually under the black cloud of doom.

Thanks for the new thread. When/where did he say this? Is there a link or other context? If Castro is not still a Cub at the end of the trade deadline, something about heroin and forehead and someone's doorstep.
