I'M NOT EXCITED ABOUT ANY OF THOSE PITCHERS

Edit: Though Rosscup's k/9 is kinda sexy

Greathouse's is pretty awesome, also. Too bad he can't throw strikes.

It's official - Trey McNutt to Tennessee's DL and Dallas Beeler up to Tennessee.

I thought Greathouse had pretty middling stuff, and got by as a crafty lefty. The k/9 numbers don't really bear that out. Neither do the walks, for that matter.

When he was drafted, the scouting report said upper 80s FB (with hopes that it might bounce up a notch once he stopped being a two-player) and a plus curve. The Rich Hill comps might be appropriate given Greathouse's horrid control thus far.

Oh what the [expletive]. [expletive] everything about this season. May as we'll cut to my nightmare World Series of the White Sox vs. Brewers.

Interesting. We do alright with the high upside guys with control issues, so I'm actually pretty optimistic.

Why are you upset now? It was known that McNutt would miss at least one start and head to the DL yesterday.

Last extended spring training game of the year: http://www.thecubreporter.com/2011/06/04/double-plays-errors-and-injuries-strike-cubs-fitch-park

Of the ten Cubs pitchers at Extended Spring Training who spent last season pitching in the Dominican Summer League, W. Cruz and 20-year old Dominican RHP Starling Peralta are easily the top two, and I would say both have a good chance to get assigned to Boise (skipping AZL Cubs).

Unfortunately, two Cubs suffered injuries and had to leave today’s game. OF Jesus Morelli was hit on the left hand by a pitch (and it did not look good), and catcher Johan DeJesus had to be helped from the field after taking a foul tip direct hit on the groin/protective cup. DeJesus was on the ground writhing in pain for five minutes, and looked like he was about to pass out once he got to his feet. (Just watching it made me feel like passing out, too).

I'm just a bit agitated due to the series of events that has been the 2011 baseball season. At least he doesn't sound all that serious like Whitenack.

Apparently Matt Loosen was called up to Daytona from extended spring training. Glad he got bumped up though I think he would have been better off at Peoria. There was no need for him to go back to Boise.

Solid full season debut for Loosen - 3.2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 1 HR, 1 HBP

i liked Loosen back in college. ceiling isn't high, but 4 solid pitches and good understanding of how to attack. Struggled some his last year, was better earlier in his career in college, iirc.

More excellent amateur talent assessment by the Cubs' top notch scouting department.

My guess is that, when the next round of movement occurs, that Greg Rohan will probably get the call to go from Peoria to Daytona to take Bour's spot. That said, I really wouldn't mind seeing Cuneo get the bump. Saw Cuneo a fair amount in college and really liked him, relatively speaking (didn't think he'd be some sort of elite guy).

I know nothing of Cuneo, but Rohans on pace to hit AAA around the same time his medicare kicks in, so Cuneos probably a better option.

2 of the Dominican signees that got big bonuses had huge games today. Jeffry Baez went 2-4 with a double, 2 walks and 2 steals while Daniel Sanchez went 2-4 with 2 walks, 2 homers, and 2 steals. :D

going out of your way to crap on an 8th round pick is a really weird thing to do
