MLB stats: None

MiLB: 4.55 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 886 2/3 IP in 153 appearances (148 starts) over 6+ seasons

AAA (09-11): 5.69 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, 289 2/3 IP, 97 BB, 179 K in 55 appearances (50 starts)

A much better game on Saturday saw the Cubs even their record at 7-7. A win in this one moves the Cubs over .500, gives them the series victory and would send them back to Wrigley after a 5-4 road trip. Johnson looks very hittable so hopefully the offense shows up again and Dempster delivers a solid start.

GO CUBS!

On a lighter note... Castro, Ramirez, and Soriano are all locked in at the plate and it makes me very happy. If the rotation had even been average to this point, we'd probably have 10 wins. Obviously it's too early to panic, but if things don't turn around, I'm sure people will start pointing some fingers at Riggins.

Nice start by Coleman tonight though.

Point the finger at Riggins and say what? That he somehow made Dempster, Garza and Zambrano bad at pitching? That would be impressively dumb, even for meatballs.

In our rotation, Garza has been amazing and Dempster has been very good so far. They've been unfortunate in how a few things have strung together on balls in play, but they've been pitching extremely well. I've actually been much more impressed with Garza than I thought I would be.

Z has been pretty mediocre so far, but not > 6 era kinda bad.

The last two spots...they really need Wells + Cashner to come back soon.

Amazing might be a bit of a stretch. I agree he's had some bad luck with BABIP though. He's throwing strikes (only 5 walks), maybe too many in certain situations. I'm not that worried about him. You are dead on though with getting Wells and Cashner back.

18.2 IP, 25K, 5BB, 0HR.

That's phenomenal pitching.

So do we need to rip on Casey Coleman's 18.00 WHIP or should we needlessly rip on Dempster?

Just trying to re-create last nights mojo, that's all.
