But that came so late in his career. Rose, in my opinion, won't age as well as so much of his skills are based on jumping and speed. There is a chance that we just saw the best year Derrick will ever have.

Come on now.

I'm not trying to hate. He had an amazing season. And great point guards that are so atheletic can peak very early. Ask Steve Francis and Stephon Marbury.

Why would I do that? They have nothing in common with Rose.

Eh maybe I'm crazy but Francis reminds me a lot of DRose.

He had an amazing season despite displaying key flaws indicative of a very young player. And those aren't very accurate comparisons.

Sure its possible he doesn't match this season, but it isn't likely.

Watch how much better Rose gets when you give him a shooting guard that can shoot. The paint will be even more open.

Rose is in a different galaxy compared to those guys. Superstars, which Francis and Marbury are not, do not peak at 22. There are plenty of point guards that play very well into their 30s. Nash and Kidd are examples. But have no fear, Rose is in his prime for 7 more years or so. And he will get better every year.

I hope so. I'd like another title and I don't see any of my other teams doing it.

If anything, I feel for the kid right now, as he feels it's all on him. I just hope he can take it in stride and use it as motivation to get better and go farther next year.

Nah, his psyche is probably damaged. Let's check with cubbyvirus.

I think the key to next season is for Rose to proclaim in the offseason "Why can't I win the NBA Finals? It worked for the MVP ;)

I would hold off on saying that he's peaked until they surround him with better players. His numbers look pretty "meh" on everything not at the rim, but I'm curious how much of that is his true ability and how much it was being guarded by a team's best defender since there were no other options.

In response to the press conference question: did you get fouled on the last shot?

DRose: No, I didn't get fouled. If I did, they would've called it.

And Thibs just mentioned "tough calls went against us".

Let's just assume there's basketball next year and Miami is able to improve incrementally. Does a conventional team beat them? We can afford to take some off the table on defense to get a real flow on offense going. And then I see a weirdly built team like Dallas that has some combination of Kidd/Terry/Barea on the floor a lot of the time (sometimes all 3 at once!). I dunno, I just like the look of it in my mind's eye.

Not that it cost us the game (LeBron going Keyser Soze again at the end and Rose being a kid again at the end did), but I'm really getting tired of the NBA rewarding flopping. I may be biased but it seems like the Bulls don't do much of it and because of that they don't get the same calls that a team like Miami, who throws themselves all over the court in absolute desperation for calls, gets. Hell, Wade missed that layup on which Rose tapped his elbow basically because he was more concerned with making it look like he got fouled than he was about making the damn shot.
